Southern TraditionsPosted Saturday, June 12, at 2:15 PM I have lived in the South my whole life, and would not choose to live life anywhere else, except Israel, or eventually Heaven. I thank God for planting me in the South for it is in my honest opinion the most unique part of America. The Southern states have been stereotyped as back wood country bumpkins or even in- bred ones at that, some may be but don't classify us all that way. There are some things unique to the South which some friends of mine and me were discussing all week...
As I mentioned in the other 2 blogs "The First Crack" and The Crumbling" taking prayer out of schools, and now other venues, and abortion which led to the passage of " partial birth abortion, which I am glad to say was made illegal by the then President George Bush, who by most people is judged as being worthless, he stood by his beliefs whether man cared or not God will reward him for that, May God forever bless you President Bush! Like most politicians and celebrities he did not abandon his morals to be popular unlike Miley Cyrus who my girls used to hold in high regard until she came of age and decided to abandon her morals and do what is popular which leads to this blog.. ...
To use a song title by Billy Ray Cyrus, "Some Gave All" tomorrow honors the veterans who never came home alive. The ones who gave their lives for their families, friends, and for people they never even met. They fought for causes they believed in and died for causes they didn't agree with, for this they have my undying gratitude and respect ,all I can say is thank you and God Bless YOU!...
Just as the removal of prayer from public education was the first crack in the foundation of America, the big divide would not come until a decade later , and that would completely shake America, a thing called abortion. Along with the Vietnam War this horrible act divided America just the same as slavery did a century earlier...
Madalyn Murray O'Hare in my opinion is the one person who started the destruction of the foundation which America was built on. Though some claim that we were not founded as a Christian nation, those in high places allowed the public to practice their faith in all walks of life, especially in the education of our children , that is until 1963...
As I set on my front porch last night and watched the rain come down then watched the news on all the damage in surrounding areas it got me to thinking of my favorite Old Testament story of Noah's Ark. My Brother -In-Law called and asked me to drive down the road this morning to see if his bridge was washed out , which it was not to mention a big tree had fell across the bridge and done damage. It got me to thinking about the sights and sounds back in the Day's of Noah...
Sunday's Walk On the Hill I have always been a fan of John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart and can remember well staying at home with my grandfather and watching a movie back when movies were good. All this remaking to bring them up to date is doing nothing but desecrating the classics that people grew up on.If you are going to remake it use different actors , fine, don't change the era which they were first made, it don't work in my book, oh I am sorry that is not Proper English, like I care gottago!...
As most of you know I love history and have books, movies about events in history. I try to watch or read them around the time of the event and put myself in the time to see how I would do or react, the books are best because you don't have all the effects of the movies, and you have to imagine for yourself the noises, smells and sights around you...
As tomorrow morning approaches most people will be making their usual trip to church. Some even at Sunrise.I for one have choose to stay at home this year and celebrate with my family. Sadly most churches and Christians have forgotten the true meaning of the day , the event on which our faith is based, the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, for his life , ministry and death would have been for nothing if he did not arise, which he did!...
Things That Get On My Nerves! I was given a copy of a e-mail that a friend received and it was credited to several people which I will not name. I checked Snopes and it has been floating since 2003 or even earlier maybe, who knows? People call me , bigot , racist redneck and other names which I cannot and won't mention here, but personally I don't care I ain't here to please you anyway...
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/10/world/middleeast/10biden.html And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. [Luke 21:24]...
As my daughters turn 12 tomorrow[ Happy Birthday Angels] and they attend their first school dance[OH ME!] I got to thinking about the rules I would set for dating my daughters, which is still a while yet, at least 20 or so years, 5 at the least. I found this list on several different sites, where it started, I have no clue...
All That Can Be Shaken Will Be Shaken[ physically and spiritually] With the earthquake in Haiti, Chile, one in Argentina, Japan, it leads me to believe that God is trying to tell us something. Luke:21-11 states the following. And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines and pestilences , and fearful sights, and great signs shall there be from heaven...
The Calling of the Church! The word church comes from the Greek word ekklesia which means a calling out,.ie.a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation, Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both. The following is where, when and how the Church was called out...
I have noticed that Hollywood has gone back to the past to update old television shows or movies to bring them up to today's immoral standards, for example,"The Dukes of Hazzard" and the " Brady Bunch". I have heard of others in the works. Children who are raised on these shows think that the words, clothes, lifestyles and actions have always been the norm because of those shows, well they haven't!...
America "The Way I See It" For those of you who listen to Hank Jr. which I have for nearly 30 years , this was a re release of some of his classics about his views towards the nation he loves. I thought it would be a proper title for this blog. First off I Want to share something that I think should be shared with everyone for I believe it is where we are at and where we are headed!...
Faith and Politics Sorry I have been away for a bit but I have had a lot going on so hopefully I will be back to a regular basis. I always hear that you can't mix politics and religion and I agree, but you can mix politics and faith! In a poll in 2008 77% of Americans claimed to be Christian[I question that a little]...
New Year New Direction! Before I start I hope all had a blessed holiday season and that God bestows all his blessings on you in 2010! When I say new direction I don't mean a change of stance on beliefs, it is just that I intend at least from the start on doing more uplifting blogs than always doing the negative, though those will still appear every now on then...
A better choice of words. Seems as if my last blog offended some and that was not the intent, in future entries I will use my words more wisely. I do apologize to whom it may concern, and am assuming that that is why it was taken off of the site, again I am sorry to have offended with my words, that does not however change my point of view...
With the holidays season upon on us, the usual debate comes up on what to call it. As for me and my family the choice is obvious, it is Merry Christmas, but there are some who choose to call it otherwise, shame on them. Though I don't agree with all the themes of Christmas especially the chasing of the best gift, for the best gift was given to all who accept it and that gift was Jesus Christ!...
