ROLE MODELS

I have noticed a disturbing trend since my childhood. Children have quit using their dads as role models mainly because their dads either was not there ,or never showed no attention. Kids start looking to athletes and entertainers as role models,and they fail them to.Drugs ,sex scandals murder ,assault ,and all other sorts of awful stuff . You could probably put a asterisk on 75%or more of the so -called upper echelon of sports or entertainment.My father never graduated high school because of helping raise his family ,got married when he was 17 had two kids .Went from a 50 dollar a week job to making 3.25 an hour for the city where he has been ever since.He was always there ,done whatever it took [legal and honest wise]to put food on the table and clothes on our back.Always doing without so we could have .It wasn't name brand or steaks and ribs every night ,but we didn't do without.Kids now have to have name brand shoes ,clothes and only have the best of meals to be happy.Wearing a certain persons jersey or likeness seems to be the trend .The fathers of this country need to get back to living up to the standards of our forefathers ,being a father ,a role model for anybody can be a daddy , [takes all of a few minutes to make a child ]but it takes a lifetime to be a father.A father needs to be a provider ,a comforter a healer of hurts,a person to pick you up when your down,a person to take you back when you have left on your own and made mistakes.He doesn't say I told you so ,he hugs you and says welcome home.This is the same way God is ,he should be the role model of all fathers for he is the father of all.Men ,you need to hold yourself accountable for the society in which we live,the violence ,and decadence which seems to be getting worse everyday.A little more time ,and understanding and a swat across the behind when needed can do wonders for a childs demeanor.A child needs to be taught values, and that starts at home.A little more bible reading wouldn't hurt either .I know the feedback I will get from this and from who it will come.I know all those laws in the old testament you keep throwing out and you keep doing it all you want.I have no doubt that my Father in Heaven sent his only Son to to be baptized to take away the sins of the world once and for all ONE GOD ONE BAPTISM ONE FAITH .He died on that awful cross to atone for my sins FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH.And he arose on the third day to give eternal life for all those who believe .That is the catch see you have to have unyeilding ,neverchanging,unmovable faith to base your life on this .Like I had faith in my earthly father to always put food on the tabel ,a roof over my head ,and clothes on my back ,My heavenly father has prepared me a mansion on high where my soul will never die.Men stand up and be accounted for!BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING

My Dad was my role model also. I thought all my life he could do no wrong and I never saw any wrong in him..I believed that until the day he died 16 years ago. My Dad was everything to me I was Daddy's little girl. I miss him more everyday and still to this day cry when I think of losing him to cancer and I saw my strong Daddy crumble to an untimely death.

I have noticed the most Father's of this generation are no more than sperm donors very few play active roles in their children's lives.(please take note I said most not all) There are so many broken homes where the father does not even pay support much less be any sort of father. It is sad these children will never know the joys of having a real father..like mine and yours.

I was like a lot of kids these days as my bio father was not around either. My parents divorced when I was born so I've never even lived with him When I was a year old my mom met and married my daddy. He loved my sister & me as much as his bio daughter. He became our legal dad before we entered school so we grew up a complete family. He & my mom divorced when we were teens but 20 yrs later he is still and always will be my daddy as well as grandpa to my kids.

My mom's dad also left when she was young as well as my nephew's dad however God placed wonderful men in their lives who stepped up and became wonderful dad's and grandpa's too.

I am not stepping on anyone's toes... as I know how deadly cancer can be... but this goes a long way to proving why there IS A CURE, BUT DRUG COMPANIES CAN'T MAKE A PROFIT OF A DRUG OR MOLECULE THEY CAN NOT PATENT!!!

There are no magic bullets in the fight against cancer: that's the first thing every responsible scientist mentions when discussing a possible new treatment, no matter how promising. If there were a magic bullet, though, it might be something like dichloroacetate, or DCA, a drug that kills cancer cells by exploiting a fundamental weakness found in a wide range of solid tumors. So far, though, it kills them just in test tubes and in rats infected with human cancer cells; it has never been tested against cancer in living human beings. DCA ... is an existing drug whose side effects are well-studied and relatively tolerable. Also, it's a small molecule that might be able to cross the blood-brain barrier to reach otherwise intractable brain tumors. Within days after a technical paper on DCA appeared in the journal Cancer Cell last week, the lead author, Dr. Evangelos Michelakis of the University of Alberta, was deluged with calls and e-mails from prospective patients--to whom he can say only, "Hang in there." DCA is a remarkably simple molecule. It acts in the body to promote the activity of the mitochondria. Researchers have assumed that the mitochondria in cancer cells were irreparably damaged. But Michelakis wondered if that was really true. With his colleagues he used DCA to turn back on the mitochondria in cancer cells--which promptly died. One of the great things about DCA is that it's a simple compound, in the public domain, and could be produced for pennies a dose. But that's also a problem, because big drug companies are unlikely to spend a billion dollars or so on large-scale clinical trials for a compound they can't patent. Note: Thank you Newsweek for publishing this important article. Why haven't any other U.S. media reported this major story? Notice how even Newsweek acknowledges that the drug companies are not interested in finding a cure for cancer if they can't make a profit from it. Some suspect that the pharmaceutical industry has even suppressed cancer cures found in the past.

Today in this day of time, a world based on man-made materials, sex appeal, technology and labels..it's no wonder why many fathers have lowered themselves into nothing more than a sperm donor. I agree that fathers need to step up and be a role model for their children, but again, we live in a world that is more concerned with the cloning of people and killing of embryos than they are about their children. People give their children what they want to shut them up, alot of parents don't care anymore, as long as they dont have to deal with their children. I agree that more bible teachings are needed, but again, because people are so selfish and set in their own ways, we cant offend those that dont believe in GOD now can we? This world has gone from neighbors helping neighbors, to neighbors killing neighbors.
