The 1% Chance of the Bible Being TruePosted Sunday, August 19, 2007, at 7:53 AM
People often question me on how I can follow a book that does seem relevant for today's time ,I never used to have the answer, but now I do. I see people buying bunches of lottery tickets just for that 1% chance of striking it rich while going bankrupt in the process. I see people betting on sporting events based on that 1% chance of making a score. I see people who I know are married with people who they are not married to hoping for that 1% chance that they won't be caught. I have seen people cheat on tests at school and paperwork at their place of employment based on that 1% chance they won't be caught. I have seen people gamble with their precious lives based on the 1% chance they can pull it off. I myself at one time took one bullet and put it in one chamber and spun the barrel then put it to my head and pulled the trigger...click! I survived that 1% chance and knew I had a purpose and that was to lead people to the open and loving arms of Jesus Christ. I know some of you may get tired of me preaching on this ,but out of all of the things that I have mentioned and I could mention many more, what if? just what if ? what the bible says is true about the hereafter ,why would anybody want to not take that 1% chance and accept what Jesus done for them. You are willing to do all these others based on that 1% chance ,but you are not willing to gamble on eternity in paradise ,my gamble is a sure thing ,is yours? Be Blessed!

This has got to be your best blog yet, in my opinion. I think the community, when coming here and commenting, misreads your blogs into some form of "pushing religion on the community". You, being a strong christian, as you are, are only writing blogs on the subjects which remain most important to you. As do the sports columnists and the others with the animal shelter. I don't believe that you are pushing religion to anyone, but since it seems to be a main subject on your blogs, don't you find it funny that no one wants to bring religion into a debate until it better suits there own defense? Much like schools and the government, they throw the subjects of religion and GOD around until needed for their own reasons.
"what if" has gotten scientists to where they are today, just that simple phrase alone.
Good blog!
Thanks and take care!
There is a "1% chance" anybody cares. Oh wait, Weezie counts. There's the 1%
I care....although I do believe ALOT of the Bible is contradictory. I believe there are LOTS of books that haven't been found and never will be. I believe there are books that have been found, but are left out on purpose. I believe that thru the ages, mostly only the men were taught to read and write and therefore translated it to their advantage. But, I also believe it is a very good Book of books. I don't believe God intended for a man to "lay" with or "know" another man. That, to me, is morally repugnant! I guess I'm only part of the 1% who believes that.
good for you.
Yes! It is.
hahaha..great comment Revolution. Save me a seat...
Revolution:
Whatever! I'd say your seat in hell is ready and waiting for ya!
buh-bye
blah, blah, blah,
Whatever. Go save a gay or something.....
Haha, the day a 'GAY' EMS or doctor or fireman saves your life when it is on the line is the day you will understand your prejudice does not stand in the way of people who try to do good works...
Someone who is supposedly a mother is stooping to the level of argument any 5th grader could provide. One with no merit. Heaven forbid you need a doctor to save someone's life while they are in an emergency situation... what happens when that doctor is obviously gay and is the only one who can help you? Are you gonna tell them to 'go save a gay?' I hope they help you with all the strength in the world, and then you'll realize maybe hell isn't such a bad place...
countrymom
"blah, blah, blah,
Whatever. Go save a gay or something....."
Does your mommy know you are up this late and online?
But anyways.. Back to the 1% thing. I think there is more than a 1% chance God is right... God knows everything that will happen in this world.
We can not and will not change that. The fact is gamblers, those who commit adultery and cheaters can all be forgiven. So who's to say those very same people who sin daily, just like you and I, aren't the very same people who believe in God, and will take that chance to believe it.
Don't give up on those other people, because you said yourself you were once just like them.... I am not accusing you of 'pushing religion' I am simply asking you why it's necessary to continuously harp on sin's of other's whom you don't even know... They could be the very same people who learn from those mistakes and try to correct it after coming to God for guidance. It's not fair and definitely not pleasing to God for you to single out certain people and act as if they can't be changed by the blood of Jesus, just like you supposedly have been. Give credit where credit is due, and it most certainly not the way you spread the 'Truth.'
I agree, they can be saved but as seems to be the case they don't believe in the Bible period and they won't take that chance that is true and there are certain people who won't enter Heaven.I am not picking on anybody sins and I am not even saying that gambling is a sin all I am saying is that people bet a lot on that 1% chance but they won't put faith the size of a mustard seed in the creator and sustainer of life.Jesus saves ,he won't send people to the lake of fire ,he lets them do it themselves.I am not judging on who goes or not ,I am just making random thoughts that must annoy you and if you don't like what I write then why do you keep reading it you see if we don't like gays don't people don't be one .the same can be said if you don't like Sons and Daughters of God then don't be one ! Have a Nice Day!
Good job Michael. I like this blog. This is what I have been saying for years. Let's say you spend your whole life believing in something that isn't true, but in all that time gave you great joy and sense of purpose. Is that so bad? Would you rather find out in a Lake Of Fire that is all WAS true? I'm not sure how we got on the homosexuality thing again, but I must agree with Revolution, countrymom it is wrong to judge. However it is one of the many sins you can REPENT and be cleansed of. If you believe!
I'm sorry to lead off topic ya'll. I was around my bi-sexual kin this weekend and I was just ticked off. She can't make up her mind and we, meaning the family, think its just a recreational thing with her, to get back at her husband. Her FOUR kids have to be around all this and it just ticks me off. I'm sorry to judge, rev, I thought you volunteered to go. Anyway, I'm gonna try to shut-up on these subjects and just listen because I know I'm judgemental.
Most people are judgemental countrymom, it's one of those many human flaws we all have. Myself included.
I never said I didn't like what you wrote Michael, I agreed with most of your blog except the very end. Then I disagreed with someones excuse as to why they brought up another topic that has nothing to do with your blog.
Obviously, I am trying to stay on topic, which is why your other blog only got 2 comments. I had nothing to say on that one. I just have random thoughts too, and you can be a 'son or daughter' of god and commit any version of sins as long as your heart is right with god, but there are only 1% of people who realize that.
As for spending your whole life believing in something that isn't true... I believe in God most certainly, and I believe Jesus died for everyone's sins... What I don't believe in is the Bible being used to teach and further the state of confusion and hate. Just like countrymom said, man has left out scripture, and added in things to fit their prejudices, all in a way to preach hate and condemnation. Yet for some very strange reason they must have been 100% without flaw on this one particular topic that did not even have the words to describe it until the 1900s.
But I put my 1% on the fact that you are 99% wrong.
All bets are on the table! Just throwing in a little humor, you know humor never hurt anybody.
I think it is important to point out, being judged for the good things we do in this lifetime, is only half of the believing. We also get judged for the bad things we do in this lifetime, and although most of those bad things are judged later, we do get it "three times as bad" sometimes in this lifetime. It's just best to try to do as little bad to others and ourselves than it is to believe that we are going to be judged for the good things in life.
GOD created us, not intended to do bad things, which is why they are called sins, or mistakes to some.
That is why we have to accept the precious gift of Salvation that God gave us His Son. We cannot help but sin , it is in our nature. I have been reading some awesome books on the subject they teach that all sins were forgiven in the River Jordan [when John the Baptist Baptized Jesus ]paid for on the Cross of Calvary and now Jesus is at the right hand of the Father. God gave the Laws to show man sin .Without them would no murder, stealing, adultery, and and all the other things listed in the Bible. What kind of society then? Seems like the one now sometime. The Law did get out of hand with man's interpretation of it. Rev is right , the bad things will garner judgment also.
Yup. Be Blessed.

I really wish that you and your other friends who bash and slander at every single comment that I post, would stop. I'm posting my opinion about topics, just like every other commenter on here. It's really inappropriate and immature to continue this.
No, that's not all I do is copy and paste other comments I've already posted. Why was my name brought up into the topic of the blog?
weezie, this person has already made it very clear that she just doesn't like you, though she doesn't know you. Ignore her. She just NEEDS you to respond to her to verify that she is infact important.
true true... nobody brought your name up in the topic of the blog..
you commented first... we just responded
kinda like that hyundai big 'duh' sales event commercial you see on t.v.....
DUH!

haha, you must live in denial all the time huh darrick? you posted a comment about the topic, then stated my name.
keep believing whatever your warped mind has made you believe.
In case you didn't realize that statement was about the original blog...
And a warped mind would be that of one which is adament about getting rid of 'harmful' illegal drugs while smoking weed when pregnant...
Please. You should stop with all of that.
Oh and your screen name is much better than you stating my full name on these blogs (which was taken off and we were told to NOT do again)... Yet again, think about what you say.
Weezie, you are better than this. Don't stoop to the level of 2nd grade bullying.
Revolution and Darrick_04, give it up already. Why is it your concern? What do you care about the comments Weezie has? What makes it YOUR job to try and run her off a community blog? Darrick_04, you invited her to this blog. Is she so interesting that you must read and re-read every single comment to make it say what you want it to? Grow up, be an adult. Join us in the real world, where we are talking about the subject of the blog, not about the comments or the validity of the person making them. This is not about Weezie, and like it or not it is not about you! I know your kind, you need to feel better than someone. So ya know what? Feel better than me, that's fine. Just leave her alone.
awe :)
thanks
penn and teller I say! :)
Thanks...
