Running the Devil Out of Your Temple

3:1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. 3:2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: [is] not this a brand plucked out of the fire? 3:3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
Zechariah 3:1-3 KJV
God was and is always protective over his temple so you wonder how Satan got into it, notice the "filthy garments" that Joshua had on. Uncleanness will always let Satan in. Lets take a look at how particular God is on his Temple and most of all his high priest then and now.
4:16 Lest ye corrupt [yourselves], and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, 4:17 The likeness of any beast that [is] on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that filth in the air, 4:18 The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that [is] in the waters beneath the earth: 4:19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, [even] all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven. Deuteronomy 4:16-19 KJV
God did not want anything that would take away from his presence , some churches today have everything but God in the sanctuary. If you are going to worship Jesus that, is what is done in the sanctuary not work , sports or what is worse than that ,talking about somebody else.
6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which [is] the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD. 6:2 And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof [was] threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty [cubits], and the height thereof thirty cubits. 6:3 And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits [was] the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; [and] ten cubits [was] the breadth thereof before the house. 6:4 And for the house he made windows of narrow lights. 6:5 And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, [against] the walls of the house round about, [both] of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about: 6:6 The nethermost chamber [was] five cubits broad, and the middle [was] six cubits broad, and the third [was] seven cubits broad: for without [in the wall] of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that [the beams] should not be fastened in the walls of the house. 6:7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor Axe [nor] any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building. 1 Kings 6:1-7 KJV The "iron tool" always meant warfare in the Old Covenant in today's terms don't get into arguments or disagreements in the "House of the Lord".
29:16 And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD, to cleanse [it], and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took [it], to carry [it] out abroad into the brook Kidron. 29:17 Now they began on the first [day] of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the LORD: so they sanctified the house of the LORD in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end. 2 Chronicles 29:16-17 KJV
Always keep the "House of the Lord clean for it is a representation of the Lord himself.
The furniture in the Temple always had to have special care the shew bread had to be changed out on a regular basis the Menorah always had to have fresh oil the incense had to be made just right the altar had to be cleaned constantly for God is Holy. Here are the verses to back this up.
16:14 And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle [it] with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times. Leviticus 16:14 KJV
Blood had a major impact in these days it had to be cleaned up , if you step out of God's will get back under the blood repent and become clean again.
6:32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 6:34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. John 6:32-34 KJV
The bread had to changed weekly in the temple after new bread was made the priest eat the old bread . The bread is the word of God . Chew and swallow what you get in the House of God until you come together again then receive a fresh word , don't rely on the same word or bread all the time.
4:3 From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation. Numbers 4:3 KJV
This was for the Levities so that they would not get stagnant in their duties ,churches today need to follow suit and not leave the same ones in the same roles constantly.
20:10 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: Exodus 20:10 KJV
Even in the busy schedule of a pastor, preacher or whatever the title there was be rest to spend time with God in rest comes the greatest revelation possible.
7:31 And the priest shall burn the fat upon the altar: but the breast shall be Aaron's and his sons'. Leviticus 7:31 JV A man of God needs to maintain a healthy diet to carry out God's work.
4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Ephesians 4:11-12 KJV
This is the main job of the pastor, to lead his sheep , the flock needs to take on the burdens on the upkeep of the church and the door to door and the other tasks of doing God's work. A pastor needs to get a fresh revelation as the as the oil had to be changed in the Temple for the old oil causes uncleanness as does staying in the same revelation does.
Most of all God was and always be picky about those who do his work such as pastors and preachers and such in the Days of Mose and beyond there were several physical requirements .
21:18 For whatsoever man [he be] that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, 21:19 Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, 21:20 Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken; Leviticus 21:18-20 KJV
Pastors of today cannot be "blind"for they must have spiritual vision. Pastors cannot be "lame for they must walk upright in the world. They have to use the "senses to discern what is God's word and what is not. They cannot have twisted attitudes. They have to have "spiritual growth" They have to have good eyes to receive a revelation from God. They have to be pure and clean They have to reproduce people in Christ, to be behind the pulpit for years and not to lead one person to Christ ,something is wrong.
We know of the wrath of God in the Old Testament it is documented all the way through , people of today say well "WE are under grace" here is some of the grace we are under.
5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 5:2 And kept back [part] of the price, his wife also being privy [to it], and brought a certain part, and laid [it] at the apostles' feet. 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land? 5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 5:6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried [him] out, and buried [him]. 5:7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 5:8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. 5:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband [are] at the door, and shall carry thee out. 5:10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying [her] forth, buried [her] by her husband. Acts 5:1-10 KJV
8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 8:19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. 8:20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Acts 8:18-20 KJV
5:1 It is reported commonly [that there is] fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 5:3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, [concerning] him that hath so done this deed, 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 KJV and in the last days
2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. 2:25 But that which ye have [already] hold fast till I come. Revelation 2:20-25 KJV
Now there is some grace for you!
Satan wants leadership that is why he attacked David and went after Jesus himself Churches all around have pastors who cause scandals in the "Kingdom of God", but because they are well liked they are kept in their positions. I f they get back under the blood and repent and resolve their sins with God, great. Several men of God have slipped up and been restored to greatness. If they don't feel guilt and continue then they need to be kicked out before the whole church is led astray.
In closing, if you let uncleanness into "The House Of God" or even in your own house Satan will surely enter and attack. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |
