Sins , Customs and Traditions

I keep hearing people Christians and non Christians accuse people of sin in the traditions or customs that they keep or even the convictions that they have.
The body of Christ does not need no more division or in this case you could call it a amputation of the body because it cuts some people off from the body totally. 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 5:21 Envying, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:18-26 KJV These are the direct sins listed by Paul given to him by Jesus himself on if done and forgiveness is not received , they will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. In some countries or even churches here is not proper for a woman to go in slacks or to have her head uncovered, that is a custom not a sin. In some churches the men and women have to sit on separate sides of the church. For a woman to be silent in church is a tradition not a sin. Kinds of music is custom or tradition ,not a sin. Some people are convicted to not celebrate Christmas or Easter in the worldly sense that is fine if they are convicted by it ,whether you keep Jewish food laws or not that is conviction. The body does not need anymore separation just because one church does it just a little bit different than another one does. If you have Jewish friends to take out to dinner don't take them to a pork barbecue joint respect their convictions, not condemn them for it. If you go to visit a friends church adhere to their customs out of respect for the Father of us all. My convictions are mine and mine alone on things that I do or won't do, or places I go or don't go, or how I worship. My convictions are against drinking and smoking and porn and homosexuals who won't turn from the lust of the flesh. The world may do this and not feel convicted by the Holy Spirit but I do. [This comes from a man who used to drink a case of beer a day and 2 or 3 pints of Jack on the weekend for 15 or so years and who used to watch porn on a regular basis.] I received the Holy Spirit now it is wrong for me. My children will be raised by these same convictions till they are old enough to understand. When they grow up, if they develop their own convictions about these or other things that is fine by me. I know of a custom in Africa where to become a man of the tribe you must eat your pet dog imagine doing that. To try to bring everybody into our customs when we bring them into Christ is wrong. As long as their traditions or customs do not go against the scripture on what is a sin [which you can receive forgiveness for] there is nothing wrong with it. The "body" of Christ is slowly falling apart , it needs to be mended before the "Head" which is Jesus Christ comes back for his bride. If a person wants to keep traditions and customs that is not a sin let them. I am studying the authentic Jewish Passover to try to have it instead of the Easter tradition that I am used to I will invite my family or friends , but I will not force it upon them. 6:24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: 6:25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 6:26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. A Few Thoughts

The book of Acts has a lot of examples of where Paul participated in customs and traditions of the people who he was witnessing to just to keep from offending them...because he thought that was minor compared to the Truth that he brought to them.
He also says (somewhere in Acts) not to condemn others for what they eat or do as part of their customs. I took this as his "Don't sweat the small stuff" lesson because Jesus Christ is the big picture.
For all those looking for a little pick-me up and a boost in your spirit, I suggest studying the book of Acts. I had never read the book until I participated in a recent bible study of it. Paul is the great Witness and so much can be learned from his devotion and strength.
Michael, thanks for your conviction to bring His message to this place.
Thank you and may you have a Blessed Day!
My convictions are mine and mine alone on things that I do or won't do, or places I go or don't go, or how I worship.
I agree completely!
