This is probably the hardest commandment to do because we see what somebody else has and we want it.

I t is not a sin to have desires or wants , just not at the cost of somebody else.

This commandment ties all the rest of them together people want a tangible touchable God so they worship idols.

They want something bad enough and can't wait so they steal it.

As in King David they desire somebodies spouse enough they take them then that leads to adultery and maybe murder.

To have desires is human to control them is divine.

Jesus added the 11th commandment which along with the first one hangs all the law and salvation.

Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart

Love thy neighbor as thy self.

Be Blessed!

Is this just me or do some Christians seem to want to make others covet? Jealous of what they have? To me, that leads into that prosperity gospel crap.
