Awesome BooksPosted Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at 6:42 PM
For anybody interested I just finished two awesome books by Pastor John Hagee called Jerusalem Countdown and In Defense of Israel which has give me new revelation of the long history of problems in the Middle East.
Israel was given to Abraham by God and the Palastenians have no right to and Jerusalem should not be divided[according to prophecy it will be] Teses books were written a few years ago and they are playing out on the news now. I stand firmly behind the Jewish race and support Israel for that is the foundation of my faith the GOD of Abraham Issac and Jacob. Please if you want some great insight read these books. Michael, I'm really not trying to start a debate or a spewing over of comments on this blog I just have one genuine question that I hope you'll actually answer in your own words instead of scripture! Why are you not Jewish?
HAHA, well at one point he spoke down towards Jews, now all of a sudden, a few months later... He defends them whole heartedly. Odd, you think? Because they don't believe in Jesus. Yet, they are STILL God's chosen. I don't get it. Jews and Christians, though Christianity is a branch from the same tree..
I mean, you would think that if one so firmly believed that this is where he came from (meaning his religion) said person would be intrigued enough to in fact practice in the Jewish faith.
YUP!!!!
Sorry but he is wayyyy to be judgemental to be Jewish.
He believes in Jesus, like Darrick said, so he can't be Jewish, anyway, that religion wouldn't have such a fanatical nut job.
*that should read..wayyy too judgemental*
sorry
yes we should all stand by isreal. for they are gods chosen, and the center of the universe. one day jews and gentiles will become one, and those who turn their back on them shall wittness gods wrath.
It is about time you get on here tiny76 I was feeling all alone.
To answer the question of why am I not Jewish ?
I am a Christian by choice but I know that the roots of my faith are in Judaism and I do plan to keep the Jewish festivals and feast once I study them in detail.
Who knows if I do a family tree I might discover I am Jewish.
I was misled in my comments against the Jewish race so I have gone back and redone my thinking because of falsehoods taught in the church I grew up in.
In other words, all of those who stayed on you about the Jews were right.. Imagine what else you could be wrong about...
I wish Michael would defend atleast one of his blogs instead of starting a new one everyday. JMO
Oh and if the roots of your faith are in Judaism, you can't be a CHRISTIAN..CHRISTIAN MEANS BELIEVER OF CHRIST and if you do your studies correctly, the Jewish community does not believe in Jesus.
Without the Jewish roots there would be no Christianity.
Without the Jewish roots there would be no Islam.
As far as defending my blogs the two books I mentioned is where my information came from so it is my defense.
Jesus Christ LIVED
Jesus Christ CRUCIFIED
Jesus Christ RESURRECTED
Nothing else matters!
If the world hates me they hated Christ first.
Your opinions or thoughts or comments mean nothing to me for my faith and beliefs will not waiver.
Ok, so then why practice Judaism if they DON'T believe Jesus Christ was the Messiah...
Odd, and an amazing contradiction.. But I think what Disturbia was saying, is that you never respond to your other blogs, yet start a new one... It's like you have absolutely NO answers. If you did, it wouldn't be so hard to respond.
And the world doesn't hate you, and the world doesn't hate christ, but the basis of your beliefs[Judaism] have never and will never recognize "Christ" as savior!

Surely you also know that Jesus was a Jew and so the roots of Christianity certainly do lie in in the Jewish traditions and history. Also, their are many Messianic Jews (Jews who do believe in Christ as savior).
Mr. Bell, no one is saying they hate you and no one - at least on this blog - is persecuting you for your faith. They are simply asking a question because you drastically changed your opinions.
I, in no way, hate you Michael. The world doesn't hate you either, we have much better things to apply our time to. The reason I asked the question is b/c as I stated if you are sooo firm in believing that's where it all started (not that I disagree with you) it would make me, if I were you, want to know as much as I could and possibly conform. I don't want to shake or waiver your faith, I was just a little curious.
Michael doesn't take time to think, he reads something on radical site or a book by some nutjob and believes it is total truth because he wants to back up his facts.
So he then cuts and pastes those beliefs to mesh with his own; along with a passage from the bible that the person was basing their twisted belief. He, then, calls it his own belief because he found it hard to resist not to believe. His faith is so warped by what he reads and knows people could fear it. He uses it to push his own agenda of fear-mongering to convert people to christ.
Now, mind you, 99.9% of us on this blog has knowledge of Jesus and having him trying to repeat something we already know whilst twisting it into something more sinister is a tad unnerving. Matter of fact, I find it revolting, and anyone backing him up is even more disgusting.
Michael,
YOu can bring any supporter you want, you can mention scripture after scripture, you can twist the words away from their actual meaning as much as you want. But, I will challenge you each and everytime to prove that is correct.
Evil Monkey
Not saying I believe in everything Micheal says, but what do you believe in? I'm not trying to be mean, I am just curious. You are on these religious blogs for a reason. Are you totally against God and you want the world to know,or are you for God and your angry because you think people have it all wrong?
Also I totally agree with devan. There are Jewish christians. They are finding out the truth.
If you read what Evil Monkey said, you wouldn't even need to ask that question...
Of course Jesus was a Jew, but God had no religious affiliation, or is that something I skipped over in the Bible?
darick_04, if you want to get technical, if Jesus was God's son and he was Jewish, then I guess God's religious affiliation would be that of the Jews.
Then would that mean God, like most Jews, doesn't think Jesus was Savior? I'm confused!
He's a Messianic Jew. :)
darrick04
That comment makes no sense.God sent his son Jesus for the purpose of salvation.God knows all.The Jews then were looking for a true King not a baby born in a stable. So alot of Jews are still looking for the savior. Some Jews today have realized Jesus is the Savior and now there are some Jewish christians.Still Jews though!still confused?
????????????????
I don't think it's appropriate for any human being to delegate what God's religion is.. Apparently, HIS choice religion has changed as much as the words in the Bible.. Because before Christ, there was no such thing as Christianity, so what was god then? ...
And a Messianic Jew ... wouldn't that be a 'Christian'... You know something that has always bothered me, not a single book written about the life of Jesus mentions his childhood, all we know is his birth, the last 3 or 4 years of his life, and obviously his death. Shouldn't the "savior" be someone EVERYONE witnessed throughout his ENTIRE LIFE? Or did someone so perfect only appear for a night in a manger and a few years before being nailed to a cross? The reason for this void of information is b/c nobody wrote down a thing while he was alive, the earliest accounts of his story were written ATLEAST a few decades after his death. Now, how in the world could we write an ACCURATE [without opinion] history of say, George W. Bush today, if not a single one of us were alive when he existed?
good comeback
It did mention in the bible when Jesus was a young boy he went to the temple and the priest were amazed at his teachings. It does mention him as a young boy and teenager. You can find this in Luke.
Does it mention how to use spaces after the . at the end of a sentence? <- Like this!
You totally ignored the rest of the statement. It slightly mentions a few moments as a young boy and/or teenager, but WHO saw this? [Perhaps nobody, but oh goodness, we gotta atleast make up something, so why not make it completely generic, b/c I am sure 100,000 young boys went to the temple at some point, how do you or I know it was him] 100 years after his death, they suddenly remember one random day at a temple? LOL, w/e!
Is that all you've got to say? No comment on the statement? Just jump in there and see if you can pick out something I've done wrong. I'm through with this conversation.
:)
christiangirl,
I believe with my heart just as you do, but the bible is not complete. The question regarding Jesus' life has been written about in books of the bible that were removed by evil men. Of course, Michael and Devan believe those men are ordained by god to remove them. But then it really isn't the Word of God then.
Which bring me to the question, is it really the word of god, The Bible, or is the Word of god something else? Like the Holy Grail could mean alot of things. The word of god was also, the physical ten commandments in the old testament (the tablets themselves). We have twisted it around so many times we are led to believe what others teach us.
So I can answer questions directly related to me, Is there a God? Well, it seems pretty hard to look around and think that this was formed by some spittle and goo. And in my heart and how I feel, we as a world are always searching for that inner something. So Yes I believe here is a God.
Do I believe that the Bible as we know it today is the true word of God? No, I have to say I cannot believe that it is fully his word. There is just far too much missing out of it.
Do I believe in Hell? Not as the preachers state.
Do I believe in Heaven? Yep, but not as the preachers state.
Do I beleive I am going to heaven? Nope, says 144,000 are going and I doubt I am one of them.
Do I believe I am going to have everlasting life? Yep.
Do I believe I am going to be a ghost like form? Nope, says nothing like that in the bible or any of the other books from the Bible.
Do I believe we came from Apes? hell no, I hate bananas.
Do I believe Adam and Eve were the first? Nope, I believe it was Adam and Lilith and she wanted to be on top and Adam liked Missionary. So she said, ciao and got out of there.
Why do I not believe I am going to heaven? Well God doesn't change his mind, he stated in the beginning that this was paradise and that he made this place for man to live forever. Jesus said on the Cross to the man next to him, You will be with me in Paradise. Not heaven. There are a few other passages that says that very same thing.
So in a nutshell, I make Christianity as easy to Understand, No need to complicate things as God is pretty easy to understand. He has no underlying motives and his agenda is quite clear if you can open your heart.
Other people seem to have to "motivate" people to believe using fear tactics, lies and covert means to win someone over. Me? I am blunt when asked. Btw you are the first to ask.
If you've got something real and good, you don't have to be cohersive or manipulative on its behalf.
The more you rely on force and deception, the less valid your cause appears to others.
That old and obvious premise still gets overlooked by a lot of people.
It serves us better to treat folks as if they have sense and can recognize reality when they see it.
darrick,I have no doubts about the temple story.
Believe me,people have long memories.
Even in Paradise,I'd wager there were conversations like this:
"The Messiah is here! He's over there."
"That looks like Mary's boy."
"I believe it is."
"HE'S the Messiah?"
"Yes! He healed people, raised Lazarus from the grave, fed a multitude with a few loaves and fishes and rescued a woman from being stoned to death.
He gave very thoughtful speeches-but when the authorities found out who He was and what he was saying, they had him put to death. They CRUCIFIED Him!
But,He rose three days later and by his acceptance of our sin and His resurrection,we are freed if we choose to love God."
"Crucified, huh? I could have told you the day we hunted Him over half the Holy Land that boy would get in trouble with the law."
Familiarity with Judaism can bring intriguing insight into Christianity.
For example, marriage is divided into two parts: a kiddushin or betrothal where the partners live apart and the nisuin which completes the arrangement.
During the kiddusin, the couple are married legally and in the eyes of God.
The bride achieves her husband's rank and is his heir.
This is a private contract between the two which cannot be dissolved except by death or divorce.
The nisuin occurs when the groom takes his wife into their home and they take on their obligations to one another.
The church, as the bride of Christ,is in the kiddushin stage.
She bears His name, can act for him and is joint-heir to the Father.
He goes to prepare a place for her and when we behold the Bridegroom's return, there will be great rejoicing.
While Jewish laws have stated that a couple can be flogged or involuntarily divorced if it is determined that the contract was frivilous or fraudulent from the start, the bridegroom cannot dissolve a bond with a bride he knew was flawed before they wed.
Thus,Christ remains devoted to His bride and takes responsibility for her debts and behavior even when she is less than perfect.
Our bride-price has been paid.
We have our ketubah or contract that spells out the covenant between the married parties.
The bride has accepted His love and support and taken on her duties to His family.
The love that was designed before either person was conceived is ready for consummation.
Yes,there's work ahead but we're ready for the happily ever after.
