While all in the house we were all fast asleep we were paid a 2:30 visit but this was the second one.

The first one was by some punks who get a kick out of going all over town to see if people's car doors are unlocked and pilfering through their stuff.

My wife came home late and forgot to lock hers so a bag was stolen contents were water, peanuts and benadryl, enjoy.

The lock on mine is broke , but I keep nothing in mine so no worries.

The police evidently are checking neighborhoods out and if they find doors open they stop and inform the owners.

Crazy world

Be Blessed!

I live in the country, but growing up in a big city I learned early on to lock my car doors to keep out nosy kids.

In the country, you lock your doors and roll up your windows to keep out critters.

You might find tracks and nose smudges on your truck but your seats, dash and horde

of snacks will be intact.

Like evilmonkey, I'm curious about the neighborhood(s) this is happening in? I park in the garage most of the time, but my husband doesn't and leaves his doors unlocked some of time time. But, there is nothing of great value in his truck to take. However, we still don't want anyone just thinking that they can help themselves.

I know a lot of it was around the 231 North area in the houses close behind the Huddle House and also around Butler and those streets along there. I also heard at least one in the county. Did they ever catch them, has anyone heard? I hope so, probably teenagers with nothing better to do.

behind the huddlehouse off of green lane

Oh damn thats close to my house:( Do you think it is people that live nearby in little mexico or drivebys?

That's fairly close to me as well. We live in Greystone Estates and if you take shortcuts, it's really close. I wonder, too, if it's teenagers with nothing better to do than to mess with other people's stuff. From time to time, I see several teens walking through our neighborhood who I know do not live there.

Well, i know of a few kids that aren't even out of Thomas that have vandalized stuff in my yard. I had to chase them about 3 blocks to a trailer part, once I got there I saw them lurking and they ran into a mobile home. I waited a few hours until I saw an adult approach the house. His was a hispanic guy, "that couldn't speak english." Yet I heard him speak english to the girl that just dropped him off...

Luckily I spoke spanish (only 3 years) and proceeded to tell him the boys in his house had damaged a few flower gardens and several of my wife's lame ornament thingies in the yard. He said, "his children have been home the entire time." I asked how he knew if he wasn't home for the past 2.5 hours? Cause I been standing here for that amount of time waiting for him. He ran inside and never came out. I decided to call the police and make a report. Never heard what happened. That was a couple weeks ago.

Coulda been those boys that he was brainwashing in his "sessions" he held... Never know?

Or maybe it's those rampant homosexuals he keeps talking about that are running around ;)

Maybe we need a Y around here.

It could provide recreation, education, out reach programs, spiritual counseling, etc. to a lot of people.

Yes,we have other organizations providing such services but can one ever have too much help along those lines?

The Y has been doing this since 1844 and spun off the Scouts and the USO.

They've done everything from provided poor bachelors with a safe and moral place to go home to after work to assistance to prisoners of war,job training, economic development programs, teen leadership programs and treatment for Alzheimer's patients and the autistic.

If we can't get a Y,maybe we can just follow their example.

If kids get their physical, emotional and spiritual needs met, there's less likelihood they'll commit crimes.

Sometimes, parents can't provide all they need.

We can either deal with the children now or wait until they wind up in our jails and hospitals.

We can give them a good model for how to become healthy adults or endure the consequences if they have to manage without one.

Yeah, because kids who do have a church upbringing would never do anything wrong.

Well I figured it had to be those darned Atheist out there. Because Christian girls and boys never do anything....wonder why all the boys in my school loved dating the "preacher's daughter?" Cause she was on her back so much she might as well have been a mattress....lol...I can't wait to see when his daughter's rebel and make no mistake about it Mr. Bell..they will rebel and it will be bad. All kids do it and they will to. KARMA KARMA KARMA

Yeah, when you are brainwashed to think everthing is perfect, then you do everything in your power to prove perfect doesn't exist :)

-- Posted by nascarfanatic on Fri, Mar 14, 2008, at 10:57 PM

Or you just go out and do everything you are told not to do out of pure curiosity, just to see if it really is all that bad. Be funny if one becomes a lesbian ;)

Here I was figuring Preachers' kids erred for the same reason as everybody else.

We have human frailities.

Limited knowledge, limited self-control,hearts and minds on overdrive and a need to make our own spiritual journeys.

("God doesn't have grandkids",remember?)

Of course,we can be clever and intrepid and generous in our love,too-even if we grew up in an environment that stressed considerate and responsible behavior.

Sometimes, our children's rebellion comes in the form of their living our faith better than we do.
