Old Noah

In the recent news lately with the flooding it reminded me of "THE FLOOD"
In Genesis 6:3 it states that the Spirit of the Lord would not always strive with man , that his time would be 120 years.
God was giving fair warning that mans time would end in 120 years until Noah found grace.
You think some of today's messages get old Noah preached the same one for 120 years "Get in the boat yall it's gonna rain".
The Jewish bible says that God regretted that he made man Websters gives the meaning as to feel sorrow.
The word repent can mean the same thing but since God has no sin he cannot repent so the word regret fits better here.
People always say that Noah was "perfect" the Jewish text says that he was wholehearted which means undivided in purpose, enthusiasm, will, or commitment.
So he was perfect in his desire for God not his actions because one of the first things he did was to get "drunk and naked".
The reason according to Jewish tradition Gen7:10 that he waited 7 days was that Noah was morning the death of his grandfather Methuselah.
For God took all the Righteous like Enoch and Methuselah who seeked after God before the coming destruction.
A lot of great people of God are dying now , before the oncoming destruction.
The rain lasted for 40 days and 40 nights and then all they had was time on their hand.
Noah and his family and two of each animal for repopulating plus seven pairs of each for sacrifice.
The earth was to never be cursed again for it will be remade into the Garden of Eden once more.
The friendship between man and animal was to be changed for all animals were to be food for before Abraham there were no Jewish people only Gentiles.
God called out the family of Abraham out to be special.
When Ham saw his fathers nakedness it can be taken 2 ways he either just saw daddy naked or he took advantage of his mother while Noah was asleep for to biblical standards a man's wife is "his nakedness".
I believe that Cannaan was cursed I believe that he was the offspring of Ham's awful deed.
Generational curses are as true today as they were back then.
In closing Noah found grace and seeked after the Lord and God saved him and his family.

If you look around now, the times are just like they were when Noah was around. Well actually I think they are much worse.
Noah may have sung only one song for 120 years but I think he named that tune.
I wish I had a faith as strong as Noah. He had to look forward to see the cross and we are priviledged with getting to look back and see it. If God showed this wrath on a people looking forward how much more can his wrath be for us that were opportune in looking back.
You can never know the depth of his love until you measure it next to the width of his wrath.
I am thankful he has displayed both his love and wrath through Noah and the Flood.
Genesis 6:1-8
The sons of God (the angels) saw the women on earth were beautiful and wanted to take wives of whom they pleased. God allowed them to come to earth and marry women but they would lose their immortality and would have a life spand of 120 years.
It was these fallen angels who corrupted the people on earth with their power, knowledge and strength. The people became very corrupt so God decided to destroy every living thing on the earth except for Noah's family and the animals in the ark.
Noah had found Grace in God long before the Flood, that is why he was chosen to build the ark. Noah was a Preacher back then. (2 Peter 2:5)
Here is something you may not have known, but when the flood started the people must have really been scared because... it had never rained before the flood. A mist would come up out of the ground to water the plants. (Genesis 2:5,6)
The only water they had seen was in the lakes, rivers, and streams and without rain they wouldn't have ever come out of their banks. Must have been very frightening just like the fire from heaven will be.
After the flood Noah was 600 years old when his youngest son Ham, who was only 100 years old, went into Noah's tent and saw Noah's nakedness. When Noah found out he was pissed at Ham and he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
Let's get real here. Ham was 100 years old. Noah was 600 so his wife would have been close to 600 years old also. I don't see Ham getting sexually excited by looking at his 600 year old mother. No... I believe Noah was just mad because his son actually saw his naked winkled up old body. Nothing sexy to look at here. Moving on...
Noah had a vinyard after the flood so he no doubt liked to drink wine.(Genesis 9:20)
Yup.. OLD Noah!
If I was cooped up in a Ark, boat or ship for 40 days and 40 nights with a bunch of wild animals to take care of... I think I would have to get drunk too when it was all over, LOL!
