There is a empty tomb in Jerusalem !

The people going to prepare the body of Jesus who was crucified for telling the truth [that he was the Son of God]

were shocked to find the tomb empty , then they remembered what Jesus had told them.

On the 3rd day I will arise !

And he did to sit on the right hand of the Father to await the appointed time to come back and get his bride.

What a glorious day !

This is a glorious day. I wished that it wasnt diluted down with the easter bunny and that kind of stuff. This holiday should be more celebrated than Christmas, yet as I watched tv today I cant recall one station (except the documentary on Jesus life on history channel) that said anything about the resurection of our Lord and Saviour. I guess we should get all of our March madness in now, because hell doesnt get good television reception.

Easter, just like Christmas has lost its underlying meaning. It doesn't matter when the Easter Bunny comes, nor when Santa Claus comes. It is the secular association that drives the billions of dollars of revenue on each holiday.

When my children were growing up we always had both on Easter day. We had our easter egg hunt and on the eggs was a message that each child would read after the eggs were found. During Christmas and Easter the Bunny visited and so did Santa but JESUS WAS ALWAYS the reason.

Taken directly from Wikipedia:

The Easter Bunny is a mythological rabbit who brings gifts and candy to children on the Easter holiday. Its origin is unknown. The Easter bunny has its origin in pre-Christian fertility lore. The Hare and the Rabbit were the most fertile animals known and they served as symbols of the new life during the Spring season...The Easter bunny was introduced to American folklore by the German settlers who arrived in the Pennsylvania Dutch country during the 1700s. The arrival of the "Oschter Haws" was considered "childhood's greatest pleasure" next to a visit from Christ-Kindel on Christmas Eve. The children believed that if they were good the "Oschter Haws" would lay a nest of colored eggs.

Like Christmas, Easter also used to be a pagan holiday was converted by the Catholic Church into a Christian celebration. For further information on that, go to this website:

Easter speaks to my spirit in a lot of ways.

Mostly,It's God complaining "How can I do up your spirit like a Faberge' egg when you not only haven't emptied out what was in your shell but you hardboiled it?!"

quantumcat,

Now don't you go and get us started back on the chicken and the egg things again.

You will have me asking Darrick04 what kind of egg did Foghorn Leghorn lay.
