Scools will let kids read about witches and draw evil stuff , they are sponsoring a Day of Silence to show support for the Homosexual agenda.
They fail a child because of a Christian reference, how sad is this?
They won't offend other faiths, but they will try to destroy the Christian faith.
I read where schools get their class to act Muslim for a week to earn a grade.
Class speakers are censored from using the Name of Jesus.
I will admit that these are in other states , but I wonder how long till it reaches Tennessee or even our little town of Shelbyville.

There are A few books out there about Wigglesworth all of them I have read are good.
Yes, according to the bible, but that means they will not willingly sin, because the Holy Ghost is within them.
If they want to sin they have to willfully sin and the Holy Ghost will leave.
Now don't get me wrong. They may sin sins that they are not aware of, possibly, but they will not willingly disobey Gods' commandments.
If God is in you and you in God, who is going to sin, you or God, you are both as one.

Jesus said I have come not to destroy the law but to fulfill the law. He said if you are born again, you are dead to the law and no longer bound by the law but the two commandments.
He said you were given Moses' law but you could not obey them because the law doesn't prevent you from sinning. The laws only remind you of all the sins you have committed, making you feel worst than if you had not known the laws.
Jesus said the Law is for the lawless not the righteous. If you are born again, you are not going to sin, so you don't need the laws, only the two commandments.
If we obey the two commandments all the other commandments will not be disobeyed.
Jesus said He has fulfilled the law by his Grace. Also by Love.
Then Jesus also said anyone who tells anyone the law has been done away with or you don't have to obey the law has sinned.
This means that the laws still apply to the lawless but not to a born again christian. If you love God with all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself, you are not going to sin, so no laws are broken nor sin committed! But if you don't obey the two commandments you are going to sin. That has already been proven in the past.
The two commandments are the laws that our forefathers used to draw up the Constitution of the United States. Look at what it means:
We who are born in this country have a right to do anything that we want to do as long as we do not injure anyone or do property damage.
1. We do not injure anyone; we don't bodily injure anyone or violate their constitutional rights.
2. We do not damage anyones' property.
No other laws apply, according to the Constitution.
We the people are the sovereignity in this country, and the sovereignity is exempt from the law because it is the author and source of the law. We are only liable if we injure or do property damage.
WARNING: This does NOT apply to 14th Amendment Citizens. They are bound by all Laws in the United States and the States in which they reside.
So in closing, I must say that the laws are in effect for the lawless and the sinners, but not the born again christian who obeys the two commandments.

I am not sure how all the gifts fit in. I think some people can have several gifts while others only have one or two.
I have been tongue tied a few times when I have tried to say something but it isn't speaking in tongues, I'm sure of that.
I once heard a man speaking in tongues when I was a youngster in a church of God. I never went back. Wish now I had. Not sure but I think someone was interpreting what he was saying.
Speaking in tongues when you pray is your Holy Spirit praying for you.
Speaking in tongues in church is God sending a message to the church thru the person speaking, but someone has to be there to interpret the message as you speak it or it does no good to speak in tongues out loud.
When you accept Christ, He has chosen you and ordained you. You are a disciple of Christ from then on. You have the power to heal, cast out demons and do other miracles like Jesus did IF YOU BELIEVE!
I have never prayed in tongues so I must not be praying hard enough.
Most people who are saved don't know about the Holy Ghost at the time of being saved, so don't know they have it.
At first a lot of people have a hard time accepting the idea that Jesus could forgive them of their horrible sins to begin with let alone give them the Holy Ghost too. I may take a while for some people to realize they have the Holy Ghost.
Our Body is the TEMPLE for the Holy Ghost.

I have heard of speaking in tongues which are for a sign to nonbelievers but have not read about praying in tongues.
I know the Spirit makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered because we do not know what we need to pray for. That is the only thing that comes to mind when I heard you mention praying in tongues but I do not think that is what you were referring to since this verse does not seem to be implying the gift of tongues.
Could you explain this for me a little more?

When I said I got everything.I should have said I got saved and got the Holy Ghost at the same time.
I have prayed for people and they have been healed.But I don't see myself as having all the gifts.As for the rest of the gifts, I think they will manifest If I need them.I do pray in tongues but that is something that everyone who has the Holy Ghost can do.

I answered your blog but when I came back to see if anyone commented, it wasn't on here. All of Michaels' blogs are short lived when I get on them so I must move on.
I wanted to say that you were talking about Jesus' disciples who had to wait for the Holy Ghost to descend on them. That couldn't happen until Jesus left. Of course, the disciples had to be scared because their master, Jesus Christ, had just been crucified by the Pharasees and Scribes and Jews, more so than the Romans. And now they were going to go out and do the same things that Jesus was murdered for doing. It had to be scary for them. But the Holy Ghost would calm them and guide them on their journey. After Jesus died and was raised again and descended into heaven, we don't hear anymore about Mary Magdalene following the disciples or anything about the other 70 disciples of Jesus that he sent out ahead of Him.
Mary Magdalene was forgiven by Jesus of her sins so she would have been baptisted with the Holy Ghost and been more in turn with Jesus and God than His disciples were. Jesus' disciples had to keep asking Him what the parables meant, because none of them had been filled with the holy Ghost yet.
Since the disciples were going to teach the word of God to everyone including the Gentiles, they would need to be able to speak in the tongue of the foreigners.
Acts is just the beginning of their teaching. As I read in the rest of the New Testament I read things that are so clear as to what they are trying to teach the people. Many didn't get it just like today. Many people read but cant understand, they hear but can't comprehend. With the Holy Ghost you can understand what they were teaching the people back then and it applies today.

Read the book of ACTS pay particular attention to the first 5 versus.How he spent forty days speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of GOD.These were men scared of their own shadow at that time.Especially about things of Jesus.
In chp-2 v-1-4 being filled with the Holy Ghost.In chp-2 see how boldly they started preaching, something had changed them.In v-37 see how conviction came upon the people.And they wanted to know what to do about it.In v-38-41 Peter tells them what to do.Remember just days before they couldn't do anything they were so afraid. The Holy Ghost had given them something" BOLDNESS".Read the rest of ACTS see what and how they taught.

I can't say that it is a requirement from God or not. It was required of Jesus because it was prophesied. Jesus didn't baptize in water but with the Holy Ghost. We can baptize in the name of Jesus or in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. I leave the baptizing to the pastors etc.. The Holy Ghost is a free gift when someone accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior.

That is one of the best gifts a person can receive. You can communicate with God much better thru the Holy Ghost because He knows how to pray better than you and in a language that is Gods.
The Spirit comes within you without your knowing it sometimes. You just have to accept the spirit because it is written that it will fill you. You are a blessed christian to have this gift. This is a private gift just for you. I don't have that gift. That's like having a hot line to God. Use it to pray for others.

I have recently come to the enlightenment that you can pray in the Holy Ghost any time.I knew the spirit prayed through you.I had been under the assumption the Spirit had to move on you to do it.That is the gift from God now. Also, I beleieve there are a lot of things in the Bible that we will never know for sure! Somethings we just have to believe happened or exist, etc. I try to explain everything I can so it comes alive and makes true sense without taking away your need to believe.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Then later the Word was made flesh and blood as Jesus Christ.
Some where in the Bible I read where Abraham was visited by the the word. When Abraham was visited by the Angel who told him he would have a nation of children, Abraham referred to the Angel as the Lord. An angel would not of let Abraham call him the Lord unless it was.
I have always thought that the word could have come here as Melchizedek, but there isn't enough proof in the bible to claim it as the truth.
I can only say Melchizedek was the holiest of holies at that time, making him holier than any man.
The fact that Melchizedek is still alive today makes me wonder just who this "Priest forever really is"! I have read also in Psalm 110:1-5 that the Lord was a priest "After the Order of Melchizedek".
This is God telling His Son, that sits at His right hand, God has sworn that that He (Jesus) IS a priest forever "after the order of Melchizedek".
Jesus is superior to Melchizedek because he gave his life for our sins and He is GOD, However, Jesus is a "PRIEST FOREVER", Just like Melchizedek, after the order of Melchizedek. Melchizedek had to come first but no where does it say Melchizedek was God! Melchizedek still lives today in heaven so ???
Melchizedek is an equal to Jesus in that He is a Priest forever and he is living forever, just like Jesus is today, only Jesus is a Priest forever AFTER the order of Melchizedek.
God glorifies Melchizedek by telling us that His only begotten son, Jesus, is a priest forever, but only after the order of Melchizedek. If, and I am not saying the word came to earth as Melchizedek before He came as Jesus, but if he did, he came only to bless Abraham and accept Abraham's tithing, but not to judge nor save the world, nor anything else. If Jesus was Melchizedek it would have been mentioned in the bible somewhere, as one of the names of Jesus.
Everyone will have to let the Holy Ghost instruct them on this tid bit.

I have always thought that Melchizedek represented a previous incarnation of Christ prior to his New Testament incarnation. I think this is what unique lies was referring to but he will have to clarify that himself.
Let me be sure of your meaning of "equal to", Unique-Lies. When you say "equal to" do you mean the same as? I can understand an interpretation that says that Melchizedek was a previous incarnation of Christ prior to his New Testament incarnation. My first understanding of your statement was that Melchizedek was some completely other being "equal to" Christ. I would not accept this interpretation.

I understand the comparison of Jesus to Melchizedek as a way of establishing his superiority to the Jewish (Aaronic/Levitical) High Priests, but I don't think this implies that he is equal to Christ. Father, Son, Holy Spirit - to these there is no equality.

Thank you for the background on yourself.I found it interesting! That isn't important as what you do now. I have never been called to the pasters' office for a pow wow. I think I would like that. I feel secure in my beliefs and don't mind discussing anything about religion. I test the words of preachers and teachers against what I know and read in the bible.
You said you have the Holy Ghost, so you have the best teacher available. Listen to what it tells you when you read God's Word and hear new things. When you listen to sermons, take it in, but test it with what you know.
Preachers, pastors and ministers are human and they had to go to school to learn their religion and be ordained.
Jesus tells us that He chose us and Ordained us, so we are teachers of His word, if we obey Him and stay in His word.
If you have beliefs that don't agree with what you are being taught compare them with what the Bible says. Listen to the Holy Ghost within you.
Above all... Read your Bible and test everything you are taught or told against the scriptures. Lot of people take scriptures out of text to make it mean something else. Many people who have only heard a verse may think it means something else because they have never read it in the bible where it is written. Make your Pastor prove what he preaches.
You are on the right track now so keep reading His word.

Abraham was the Holiest man alive in his time. God spoke to him and even gave Abraham all the land he could see for his descendents.
Melchizedek comes along as the priest of the most high God. He doesn't come from the Levites. There is no record of his birth or his death. He is holier than Abraham because he blessed Abraham and accepts a tithing or 1 tenth of what Abraham had. A Levite Priest was not available because they weren't born yet. (Levites came from one of the 12 tribes). Moses and Aaron were Levites but they weren't born yet. So Melchizedek came from God and returned to God.
Genesis 14:17-19 (King James Version)
17And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale.
18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
--> The bible tells us that Melchizedek lives forever.
(Hebrews 7:3) 3. Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.
I will let you read about this High priest for yourself. Start reading (Heb. 5:6-7; 6:20) (Heb. 7:1-28) pretty much explains it for you.

Throu Christ ALL things are possible! If you have the faith the size of a mustard seed you could move a mountain, but if you aren't a believer in Christ and don't love God with all your heart mind and souls and love your neighbor as yourself, you won't get into the kingdom of heaven.
Even satan and his angels can do miracles, but they aren't going to enter the kingdom of heaven.

One of Jesus' disciple came to him and told Jesus that a man was casting out a devil from another man so the disciple told him to stop it because he wasn't one of them (disciples). Jesus told the disciple to never stop anyone from casting out devils.
Jesus allows anyone to heal peopl and cast devils out of people but the only way to God is thru Jesus Christ.
This also tells us that we ARE able to cast out devils and lay hands on people even if we are sinners who won't go into the Kingdom of heaven.
You name must be written in the Book of Life to enter the Kingdom of heaven. We must do the will of our father and not just believe on his son Jesus Christ, but believe that Jesus came in the fresh and blood and he was risen in the flesh and blood and that He IS the Son of God and Is God. You must ALSO believe that Jesus died for our sins and was raised again from the dead, and by His Stripes we ARE Healed.
"Even the devil believes and does tremble," so we have to do more than just believe. We must walk the walk and talk the talk, so to say. God is within you so you must show that He is within you. Let everyone know! Make sure your name is written in the Book of Life.

The Bible is packed with information. You can be reading about a subject or a chapter about something and the verses will also contain information that confirms facts about another story.
Like "What happens when you die?" We sleep when we die if we're christian believers. How do I know this? It is scattered all through the Bible. You don't read one subject about it. It is hints in verses everywhere. For examples: Jesus told the parents of a little girl not to worry because she wasn't dead, she was just sleeping. Jesus told his disciples he had to go and wake up Lazarus. Jesus had to explain to his disciples that Lazarus was really dead but He was going to wake him from his sleep. Paul said "we shall not prevent them who are sleeping from rising first." And elsewhere that says when we die we know nothing because we sleep.
This is why the experts don't know what happens when we die. They can't read about it in one story. It is hidden all over the Bible just like everything else.
Even thou I enjoy discussing the Bible, I don't know everything in it. I haven't even read it all.
It's like the "Begats". There is a lot of free information in them about a lot of different things. You get a better idea as to who was who in the bible and what time period they lived and who else was around at that time or who wasn't. How old some men where, compared to other men. Abraham was 58 when Noah died. Did they ever meet? The Bible doesn't say, but it was a possibility when you look at the begats.

I will be staying on this blog, so I don't polute the other blogs with my facts and stories, as long as Mr. Bell leaves this blog online.
Oh one other thing... if anyone tells you that Lot went to hell, just agree with them, because everyone in the old testament went to hell when they died, because Jesus hadn't been crucified yet. Jesus went to hell when he died in those three days to preach to the dead. Everyone who believed Jesus was saved like we are today and was taken out of hell and placed where the good people sleep.

Lot was the son of Abraham's brother Har'an. He was Abraham's nephew.
Abraham's father (Te'rah) was Lot's grandfather. Te'rah took Abraham, Lot and his daughter Sarah when they moved around. Abraham married Sarah (who was his half-sister).
God promised Abraham all the land he could see. Abraham let Lot choose the land that he wanted and Abraham took the rest. Lot spent a lot of time with Abraham but moved to Sodom and Gomorrah to live. Once while he was living there he got captured in a raid. Abraham went after the kings that attacked Sodom and Gomorrah and took Lot captive. Abraham over took them and returned Lot and others who were captured. He was blessed by Melchizedek, a high Priest and the King of Salem. Melchizedek was an equal to Jesus Christ.
Abraham's righteousness rubbed off on Lot over the years. Lot's daughters gave him two sons. One was Mo'ab; (they became the Mo'ab-ites). the second son was Ben-Am'mi: (They were the people of Am'mon).
Lot had a brother named Is'cah and a sister named Mil'cah.
Mil'cah married her father's brother, Na'hor, who was also Abraham's brother.
One of Mil'cah's son was Be'thu'el, who begot Rebekah (Isaac's wife) and her brother La'ban. La'ban had two daughters named Leah and Rachel (who became Jacob's wives).
I had thught he was A righteous man.For two reasons. 1. He spent a long time with Abraham 2. He didn't doubt the word of the men that came and told him to leave.He just went and done what they told him to do.

The principles of the Bible remain the same for today. Jesus even made things a little tougher ,by stating that if we even THINK about doing some of those things we are guilty of sinning.

Lot was a very righteous man. Lot and his wife and two daughters and their husbands are the only people the angels tried to save in Sodom and Gomorrah because Lot was a holy man. His wife of course, didn't make it because she turned around to see the city destroyed. His two daughters' husbands were not convined by Lot and the two angels to leave this sin city and stayed. They were destroyed by God with the cities.
Lot was Abrahams', brothers', son. If Lot wasn't a righteous man the angels would have destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and everyone in it including Lot and his two daughters.
When Lot and his two daughters ran for the mountains to escape the distruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, they were the only ones leaving Sodom and Gomorrah. With Sodom and Gomorrah just destroyed and no survivors and no one living in the mountains where they moved to...his two daughters assumed that everyone had been destroyed except Lot and the two daughters. There were no humans in sight now except for Lot and the two girls.
Lot and his two daughters sat around the fire and drank as they discussed what had just happened down there in the valley. Lot trying to comfort his daughters drank too much and one of the daughters went to bed with him so she could give her father a son to carry on the family name. The very next night the other daughter went to his bed and conceived a second son.
They felt like there were no women for Lot to married and raise children so they each gave Lot a son.
We call this insest today, but back then it wasn't a crime or even a wrong thing to do. In fact, God encouraged the jews to marry within the jewish nation and not outsiders. It wasn't until the jews left Egypt and wondered in the wilderness that God spoke out about who a man could marry.
No! Lot didn't do anything wrong, and neither did Lots' daughters by sleeping with him.
People who tell you differently don't understand God's word in the bible. A non believer will tell you in a minute that this is wrong to do, but God told Adam and Eve to multiple! Everyone was a brother or sister to everyone at that time so it was okay to marry brother or sister. It is a crime today because our blood isn't pure enough to mingle with relatives blood.

1.Was Lott A righteous man, in God's eyes.I've heard him preached into hell so many times.From what I understand he was.
2.Was he responsible for the relations he had with his daughters,seeing how they got him drunk before doing what they did.

No! when does Perry Stone come on and channel? I am open to hearing/watching anyone teaching God's word until I find out they are behind the times. They have to be able to teach me something or I lose interest in them. But I also keep in mind that they too may have something to add to what I know.
Jack Van Impe uses scare tatics a lot and is always making videos that may or may not be the truth. He has made a few last days videos that I don't agree with. I will say that he does a lot of investigating before he puts it on his show. He is very informed about what he is talking about and ready with the proof to back up what he says.
I have looked up some of the scriptures he has quoted on his shows to find out they didn't apply to his show. I know that he is doing it for memory so I assume a verse or two may have gotten accidently thrown in by mistake. I know I can't remember all the verses I have to use.
I realize too that by revealing what you think is the truth will help you understand it better as you become more knowledgeable by reviewing it with others and getting feedback.
Most ministers and preachers don't get feedback from their congregation because their congregation only knows what they are taught. They compliment their preacher on the fine sermon to be polite whether they understood it or not.
I watch TV evangelists mainly to see how much they know. I have learned a lot from them in my lifetime. They are just as good as the many other ministers and preachers locally. Some better because they are a charismatic teaching of healing, prophecy and/or personal religious experiences or powers (gifts).
If we all listen to only one preacher, that is all we will know. We have to listen to others to get the word of God that they know also. We just have to remember to test what they say with our bible.

It's Wednesday evening at 9:15 p.m.. I have just watched Jack Van Impe on Tv. Jack Van Impe still believes that all the christian people will be Raptured up before the Anti-christ, False Prophet and the Beast begin their reign over the world.
He claimed that the very next Pope, the one that comes into power after Pope Benedict XVI will be the False Prophet. Jack Van Impe claims that the False Prophet and the Beast will come in power at the same time. I personally believe the False Prophet will appear 6 months BEFORE the Beast comes into power. John the baptist was born 6 months before Jesus was born and prepared the way for Jesus.
I only want to inform you of what Jack Van Impe said so you can be watching! If the next Pope starts up a new one world religion, then you can look for the Anti-christ to appear right after the Pope starts clearing the way.
This is what the Bible means when it says "you will know the truth and the truth will set you free". If you are just aware of what "MIGHT" happen, you can be watching for it and TEST what is being said. If it is a religion that confesses that Christ didn't come in the flesh and blood or that Jesus was not raised in the flesh and blood, you will know it is a false religion and comes from the anti-christ.
Pope Benedict XVI is too old now to be the False Prophet but the NEXT POPE could very easily be a Pope who could introduce a "New World Religion". The New Roman Empire has been rebuilt and there are 10 Kings of the earth in place today. All we need now is the Economic chaos, which is starting to go world wide, then the Anti-christ can step in and save the world with his miracles and one world religion.
Hopefully it won't be the next Pope, but watch with your eyes open, then make your decision what to do.
Think of it this way! If the next Pope starts a New One World Religion, then YOU have to admit to yourself that you weren't in the "Rapture".

1 Thessalonians 4:17 is the reason people taught about a rapture and is responsible for the misunderstanding of the Rapture.
If you go back to verse 14 and read you see that "if Jesus died and rose again, then everyone who sleep (or Died) in Jesus, God will bring with Him(Jesus) when He returns.
In verse 15 it saya that the people who are alive in the Last Days shall not prevent the souls of the dead from meeting Christ in the clouds.
In verse 16 Christ returns by descending from heaven with a shout and those who have died are raised first to meet Jesus in the air.
then in verse 17, it says that we who are alive shall be caught up in the clouds with those who were dead to meet the Lord in the air.
1 Thessalonians 4:14-17
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

Then the Book of Jude confirms it with Enoch's prophesy.

The Rapture is documented again in the Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ in chapters 7 and 14.
Revelation 7:1-8 lists the 12 tribes that the 144,000 men will come from.

4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

Our Bible is very complex! It contains the truth and yet it is hidden in the pages through out.
I can't image living forever, but then I can't visualise counting 1 million dollars either.

Each of us make up a part of the body of Christ. When we come together we put the body together as a whole and that is when we learn what God's ultimate plan is. Christ is with us when we come together and then everything is possible. If I or anyone knew it all, there would be no need for the church coming together. We share the knowledge we are given so everyone can add to it or correct it to mean what God wants us all to know.
Eveyone on here is saying that God is a Loving God, so it fits in with what the Bible says about God not making sinners live forever in torment. Satan, the Beast and the False Prophet will be tormented forever, but not the sinners. I can't believe all sinners will be punished to death but should be harshly dealt with.
Sinners who have committed muder etc. should be erased from the Universe so they can never kill again.
The Bible says that Psychics and mediums are to be stoned (Leviticus 20:27) to death.
No one is to practice... divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead(Deuteronomy 18:9-13).
Very harsh punishment when man sentenced witches and warlocks to death years agos.
I believe Psychics and Mediums communicate with demons because the dead "Know nothing" and "Do nothing". I look at it as simply educational.
Let me tell you a story I watched on the ferensic science show.
The lady who was responsible for removing the prayer out of schools started a devil worshipping website. She made millions from it and started many devil worshipping groups.
To make the story short, the devil (who she worshipped) got a man who worked in her company to murder not only her, but her husband and daughter for some Gold Coins she had saved.
Psychics who are doing the devils work go out and find murders all the time. The devil will make someone do a crime then he turns them in. What a two faced devil he is!
But anyway, When we die we know nothing and do nothing, but we will be resurrected sooner or later and will be faced with satan again, if we are sinners. And we will be judged by Christ at the second death.
Here is the HELL of it all!
We must face the Beast, the image of the Beast, Anti-christ and the False prohet if we live long enough. (This must happen before Christ returns). This is the Trials and Tribulations the last generation will have to go throu. This is like Terrorists coming here and torturing you into saying you don't believe in Christ and God. If you deny
God or Christ you may get to live, but Christ will destroy you when He returns.
If you worship the beast or his image or accept the mark so you can buy and sell, Christ will destroy you with the sword that protrudes from His mouth.

Here is where your "Faith" comes in. If you are a true believer/worshipper of Christ and God, you have to believe you will survive all this unharmed. How is your Faith?
I will be scared if I am here in those last days. You must fear God more than the Beast and anti-christ.
Billions upon Billions will accept the "Mark of the Beast". Billions upon Billions will worship the Beast and his image to save their lives, just to lose it when Christ returns with His army and Angels with plagues.

Isn't it true that the common belief of the "rapture" is based on a single verse in the bible, I Thessalonians 4:17?
My problem with that idea is that it offers the sinner no different fate than if he stayed in opposition to God nor does the believer have as much pressure to witness to those in need.
People who have never seen love or grace in action are apt to consider it a fraud or delusion.
They are comfortable with the idea of melting into nothingness.
In fact,some of them and even some scarred or jaded believers find themselves seeking oblivion as a respite from an intolerable existence.
This is one reason we need to reduce the emphasis on the afterlife and stress how rich a life with God can be here and now.
We talk about fiery pits,end time dystopias,God as some sort of celestial Ed McMahon and Heaven as the ultimate gated community.
We understate the value of salvation as being a source of peace,fulfillment,hope and adventure.
We don't hear as much about how a friendship with God can make our happiness less tied to our circumstances and more about how closely we are following His lead.
I guess I'm not comfortable with any message that suggests that Heaven is a pleasant option that needn't be acquired if it would be inconvenient.
I don't much like the emphasis we place on the future or being the Lord's pampered pets.
I find myself prefering a message that stresses our role as servants in the family business.
Right this second,we hold the burden and the blessings of working in tandem with God.
If we can make that evident to the lost,maybe they'll choose to have their sins removed by grace and have their true selves be revealed before the end rather than count on the Lake of Fire consuming their sin so totally that nothing of them remains.

And since we Know nothing and Do nothing when we die, why would anyone worry about where they are going? You aren't going to know where you are,("For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten." Eccl. 9:5)(this means their memory is blank not our memory of them). It isn't until they're Resurrected that they will know where they are again.
The Bible says when a sinner dies, his/her sould dies with them (Ezekiel 18:4 For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son--both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.). "His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish." Ps. 146:4
The Lake of Fire is not Hell! It is a fire that distroys the evil. They are NOT tormented forever, but destroyed by fire. The Beast, False Prophet and satan are tormented forever in the Lake of Fire but sinners are burned up til they don't exist anymore.

This is my Take on the "Rapture"...
There will only be 144,000 in the rapture and they will be from the 12 tribes of Israel.(Rev. 7:1-4) These 144,000 will be men who have not been defiled by women, they are "without sin", and go wheresoever Jesus goes forever. (Rev 14:1-4)
This means that those in the Rapture are jewish, male virgins who are not married. What are these jews going to be doing who are Raptured up? They are caught up in the clouds as Christ returns so this is after the Trials and Tribulations that the beast throws on us but before the trials and Tribulations that Christ brings with Him.
As Christ descends from heaven the jews will be caught up in the clouds. They instantly change into heavenly bodies. They will be with Christ forever so they will never die. (Do you understand this?)
Jesus continues coming down out of the clouds because He is returning, only now He has 144,000 jews with Him.
When Jesus returns He is going to defeat the Kings of the Earth, chain satan, throw the beast and the false prophet in the lake of fire and destroy the city of Babylon, cast everyone who accepts the "mark of the Beast" or who worships him into the Lake of Fire, and then slays all the sinners with the sword that protrudes from His mouth.
The men who are in the "Rapture" will be helping Jesus do all these battles. "Blood as high as a horses' bridle", now that's a lot of Killing. These Jews in the "rapture" don't get much training or instructions. They are caught up in the clouds to meet Jesus as He is returning. All of this is in the Book of Revelation.
Now let me explain which Jews. The Bible says they are from the 12 tribes. These are the Jews that are descendents of Shem. Japheth's and Ham's descendents were not in the 12 tribes. So, not just any jew will be in the Rapture. They nust be from Shem's descendents.
Now, if you are still with me, I will explain the followers of Jesus Christ. EVERYONE has trouble following what I am saying because they have been taught all their lives that they will be in the Rapture. So for the sake of explaining this, let's say that you are a male virgin jew who is in the rapture and now I am talking about your neighbor or friend down the street who is a follower of Christ. They believe that they will not be in the trials and tribulations and Jesus is coming back to take them home.
As I stated above, Jesus and the 144,000 are killing the sinners who are living in the last days. Jesus isn't harming the christians, only the sinners. Two will be in the field, one will be taken (killed by Jesus or the 144,000) and the other will be left. Two on the roof top. One will be taken (killed) and the other left.
When Jesus and the 144,000 are through killing the sinners, only the righteous will be left. These people (those who worship God and follow Christ)will be the only people remaining on the earth alive at this time. They will be alive to witness the 1st phase of the 1st resurrection. These people have survived Jesus' slaughter and are rewarded by becoming Kings and Priests to Christ. They reign with Christ for 1,000 years. This is the 1,000 years that satan is chained up. Those in the 1st phase of the 1st resurrection are the people who were persecuted and beheaded for their testimony of Christ and witness for God. No one else is in the 1st phase of the 1st resurrection. The second death has no effoct on these people.
After the 1,000 years satan is released and the rest of the dead are resurrected.

I have my own opinion about the Rapture but would love to get someone else's take on the subject.
Minister John Haggie is one of the first TV Evangelist to preach that He will be in the rapture and will feast and reign with Christ for a thousand years.
Oh yeah, and he says that he will stand there when Christ returns and take all his clothes off and fold them and lay them in a neat little pile on a chair or floor before he is "Raptured up".
I am hear to tell you that anyone who stands out in public and removes all their clothes and fold them and stack them neatly in a pile, waiting for Jesus, "Will be Raptured off in a Police car and will reign only in their local jail or nut house".
Forget about the Rapture! We won't see it or know when it happens. Those in the rapture will only be a small few in each country, most of which have already died.

I used to go to several churches but the holiest church I ever went to was the Church of God. It was like a Holy Roller church. It like to scared the hell out of me because I was just a kid then. I realized that God was in that church. Never been in a church so filled with the Holy Spirit since.
I haven't been to a church in years. I read my bible and listen to what God tells me.
If I ever find a church that preaches what I know, maybe I will go. If I went to a church today I think I would be making the preacher upset.
I like it when Jehovah Witnesses come to my house because I have people at my door who know their bible and who get fustrated when I start preaching to them.
You know they don't believe in Xmas because it is allegedly a tradition. I read in the bible where jesus tells the Pharasees and Scribes that they would rather teach their traditions, "Like washing pots and your hands before you eat" than to obey God's commandments.
The Pharasees and Scribes caught Jesus feeding the people in the wilderness without anyone washing their hands. The Jehovah Witnesses use that as a verse to prevent them from cellabrating xmas and easter, etc..
No! What I know I didn't learn from any church. I learned it from the bible. I was taght the same things you have been taught for years. That is why I am revealing the truth in the bible and not what I was taught by man.
Anyone who wants to believe what their church teaches them, is okay with me. I have no problem with that.

I heard all the things you have heard but I have moved on. The preacher tells his congregation that you must come up to the altar and be saved or you will burn in hell, yet when someone dies, that same preacher tells everyone in the serve that the person who died has gone home to be with God. THIS IS A LIE! You know what Jesus says about a liar!
That person never went up to the altar so he or she should be going to hell, right? Why does the preacher say they have gone home to be with God? Because they don't want to tell you the truth or they don't know the Truth. I don't think they know the truth.
I listen to TV Evangelists to see if they have learned anything yet. John Haggie is getting close but doesn't know it yet.

What denomination is it that you think believes along the lines he does? I have not seen enough from him yet to see a relation to any denomination I have known. He says he is not a denomination of which I hope he is right. I have never read about any denominations in the Bible. Only warnings against them. It seems many denominations have been started over an interpertation of a book of the Bible and even verses seem to seperate many of them.
Everything I have seen him comment on so far is from the Bible. Of coarse some people such as myself have been taught different on a few things but that is not to say his view or yours are wrong. They may well be right. Every teacher/preacher I have had was a difinite denomination with steep traditions so I do know that I should examine everything closely for myself.
Which of the contradictions do you believe this denomination takes too far?
I may be just wishful thinking but you appear in a better mood today and might be more receptive to listening to a request I have. I want to suggest that we (especially me and you) agree to not down grade one another or our sources when we comment on subjects on here. I really care nothing for it and I realize that I may be missing some good views you probably have by being unwilling to listen just because I think back on how you may view my trusted source and vice versa, you may be missing out on things because I have enflamed you by down grading your sources without ever looking at them for myself. I would like to forget about the past as much as we can and move forward without thinking about it.
I really would like to know which books you feel should have been included in the Bible and which ones you think were removed unmeritedly. I know you do not believe me but I am interested in your point of view. It gets back to what I said earlier, if we had not down graded one another so much I believe we would be more receptive to listening to one another.

Unique-Lies is speaking what has been said for centuries and centuries. Actually there is a demonination that believes exactly how he does. There is no secret to what he is saying, I studied it for years. There is alot of truth in what he is stating, but there are, also, alot of contradictions that he/they believe in, that are mentioned in the bible but they take it WAY too far.

I remember reading your post that detailed your view of what happens when people die. In all honesty I have always been taught that upon death of the flesh we immediately went to heaven or hell. I never questioned it seriously because that is what everyone taught on it whether it was of the Baptist, Church of Christ or Pentecostal denomination. I have to admit that it is hard to want to look at it any other way when I have had it tossed to me so many times as it has been but I do realize that it is easy to have possibly an incorrect view from simply associating a repetitious point of view I have been given as having to be correct.
I am interested in looking further into your view from the standpoint of what the Bible actually says about the issue. Any information or direction you have would be appreciated.

Although there are many on here who believe as you do they are not as vocal as the ones who degrade the value of the Word and it sometimes seems as if the majority has turned away from it or refused to come to it. I don't intend to reveal everything I know to everyone in just two short weeks. I am not a teacher so I won't be teaching everything I know to people.
I am not a cult, nor a church. I am not even a minister or preacher. I can not speak in front of a crowd, but can write what I know about. Even then my english isn't proper.
The new testament is full of details that the apostles have told the world. These are the men who had first hand knowledge of what Jesus told them. These same apostles are speaking to us today and telling us the same thing they told millions of people in the past.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Without Christ you can do nothing, but throu Christ all things are possible! Anything you don't understand, just ask the Lord to explain it then read his word, the Bible. The Bible is how God talks to us today. He doesn't speak down from the clouds to us like He did to His Jews.
I have not only revealed some (ShOcKiNg) secrets to everyone reading my blogs, but explained them in plain, simple english so anyone can read what I claim, in their Bible for themselves to decide for themselves. Never take my word for anything.
Your church won't teach you these things because it is too advanced for them. Their job is to feed you baby food and baby's milk to get you on the right path. These are the things YOU should be discovering as you mature in you relationship with God. Don't be afraid to learn new things that are in the Bible. If the Holy Spirit reveals things to you, remember them and you will read other passages that will confirm these new thoughts. Open your mind to what you are reading.
Satan loves to put his two cents worth in, so you must be aware. If you don't know enough about the subect, you can't even ask intelligent questions about it. When you go to church you are infact expecting the minister to tell you everything. You can only believe what he is telling you... unless you have read it yourself and know what the spirit has told you.
Question your preacher or minister. He is human just like everyone else. Don't take anyones word as the truth. Make them prove it.
I have opened a lot of eyes and caused a lot of mouths to drop in astonishment and even shock. Your blood should be boiling to find out the real truth. I have revealed things that the whole world has wondered about for centuries. Even the scientists, theologians and experts have never found these answers because they are looking in the wrong places.
You are doing fine with your reading as far as I can tell. Keep up the good work. Remember, the new testament is the apostles speaking to you telling you what Jesus told them first hand. It doesn't get any better then that! You should be able to learn what they were teaching the people 2,000 years ago before it got lost in traditions somewhere.

I agree with you. The Holy Spirit will help us understand stand it if we will pray for his help and guidance.
I have read Revelation just a few times before and it was at time in my life where I thought I could understand it without his help.
A few years back I humbled down and ask for his help and have since been overwhelmed by his patient helping hand.
I believe it has to be given to us in measures we can handle because our minds as they are could not handle all the information contained in the Word at one time. I even question if a lifetime is long enough to absorb it all fully. I appreciate the fact of his patience in so doing. Even though I have read some of the books such as Romans and Galatians at least a 1000 times each I still always look forward to reading them again. I feel that I am given a measure of better understanding each time I read them again. The measure that I receive is such that it leaves me thankful for it but still desiring to read it again that day.

You need to listen to christiangirl. She is right by telling you to read all this for yourself and praying for the Holy Spirit to help you understand it.
I once heard a minister preach that when we pray, the Holy Spirit inside of us takes what we say and puts our words into a prayer that means more to God than we ourselves can say. In other words the Holy Spirit inside of us speaks to God in Tongues. A language we don't understand but is Holy to God. The Holy Spirit also reveals to us what God is telling us as we read His word.
The Holy Spirit will reveal things to you when it thinks you are ready to know them.
I am only opening the eyes of Christians to the truth as I know it. It is up to you to find out for sure if I am right or deceiving you. There are many anti-christ in the world today so don't trust me or anyone. Read it for yourselves, then YOU WILL KNOW!

I will never know everything about Revelation. I am sure some things appear to be symbolic but in the future they may be real items or not. When I read the bible and take it literally, I seem to understand it better.
Some things like Daniel and other prophets are seeing future things. These things may have already happened, my thought on it, but some may also appy to our future.
A lot of things Jesus spoke of apply to our future which hasn't come yet.
You seem to understand what I reveal but ask about anything you are not sure about. That is good. I like to see someone is listening but also not accepting anything questionable. Keep up the reading and be sure to read His Word yourself.
Revelation isn't the best place to read because it can be very confusing until you know other things in the bible.
Read a little and let it soak in then read a little more when you are relaxed and your mind is open. God is speaking to you in the bible. That is how He tells you things, but you have to stay in His word to understand what He is saying.
One verse in the Bible can be telling you one thing. It can also be proving a prophesy at the same time and answering a question you have been searching for as well.
One verse can apply to many other verses proving them to be true or just adding more information to them. The words are very powerful in the Bible and not just the Book of Revelations. They are through out the bible, old and new testaments.
Remember parkerbrothers, don't believe everything you hear. Read for yourself and pray for the holy spirit to help you understand. Everyone can have a different view when they read Revelations.

I thought I was misunderstanding you but I was not for sure. At first it looked like you were saying the raptured Jews would not reign during the 1000 year reign. It was just the way I read it. It is not the first time I have misread what someone was saying. Thanks for the clarification.
As I told you earlier I have not spent the time in Revelation that I should have devoted to it. I had always been frustrated by the various teachings on it in regard to what parts of it were to be taken literally. I always thought it should be read literally though.
I have been studying carefully what you are teaching on it and trying to discern it as best I can. I enjoy and appreciate your comments as they shed a new light on Revelations for me.

THEY ARE! The Jews who are in the rapture are without sin in God's eyes and they go wheresoever Jesus goes forever. They will be with Jesus when He returns, they will be with Jesus when the people in the first phase of the first resurrection reign with Christ for 1,000 years. These jews are with Christ everyday and night. You could say 24/7.
I was only letting everyone know that it is the people in the first phase of the first resurrection that reign with Christ for the 1,000 years and not the Jews who remain with Christ 24/7.
All the preachers I have heard preach that they will be in the rapture and will reign with Him for 1,000 years. This is wrong. Rapture=forever. 1st phase of 1st Resurrection= reign for 1,000 years.
These people will be Priests when everyone is resurrected, so they reign with Christ to learn what the Lord's plans are.
The Jews in the Rapture don't reign over anyone that I am aware of. They are warriors with Christ and keep Him company where ever He goes.

But I do have a question. A couple of post earlier you broke the contents of Revelation down into 4 bullet points.

Pretty much so, however there is more to tell, but We were given a free will to choose the path we wanted to take. If it is the path that leads away from God then God has no use for them in His plans for eternity in His New Heaven and new earth.
As far as hell goes there will be no "Hell" after the second death. Death and Hell are cast into the "Lake of Fire" also. Everyone whose name is Not written in the book of life is cast into the Lake of Fire. The Lake of Fire is not Hell! It is a fire that distroys the evil. They are NOT tormented forever, but destroyed by fire. The Beast, False Prophet and satan are tormented forever in the Lake of Fire but sinners are burned up til they don't exist anymore.
God is a loving God to those who love Him, but if you are a sinner against God He has no use for you. You are working for the devil and will be destroyed right along with the devil.
God's end results will be His Kingdom here on earth like He originally planned it from the beginning.

If anyone has any doubts as to where they are headed... read the book of Revelation. It explains it all.
1). First there is the Rapture...This will include ONLY Jewish men who have not been defiled by women. (These Jews will go where ever Jesus goes forever).

All the people who are dead now are "Judged" and sentenced to the lake of Fire or they are allowed to live on the new earth, but don't get to go into the "New City of Jerusalem" (New Heaven). The people who accepted the "Mark of the Beast" have already been judged and cast into the "Lake of Fire" and won't be judged again.
This is what the "Book of Revelation" tells us. If you read this... "YOU SHOULD KNOW" where you are headed!

If you are a fish I would say you have to stay in the water, but if you are a christian you are not of this world and can not mingle with worldly things because they are sinful and against God. If you are a non believer or sinner, you should feel at home and alive in this sinful world.

I once heard an analogy that might help people confirm where they might be headed.
I was told that fish don't feel wet.
That is,they don't notice the water around them or feel uncomfortable in it.
They don't want to "dry off" or come up for air as that feels like death to them.
Water is their proper environment so it's normal for them to prefer it to any thing else.
Humans would feel clammy and smothered in the same realm.
We can exist there with help but it's not our natural state.
We live in a sinful world.
If we belong there,we'll feel good around all the hate and unreason.
Love and order would feel icky and unnatural.
We would perish in a place without sin as surely as a fish would on dry land.
If we belong in a place of peace and righteousness,we'll be ill at ease in a hellish place and feel "homesick" for something more noble than what's at hand.

However this isn't Hell as described in the Bible because hell is in the lower parts of the earth.
Ephesians 4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

Now, everyone can not go to heaven, because no one goes to heaven (John 3:13) but many go to hell. And what about the people who inherit the new earth?
After the resurrection and the second death some will go to the new heaven (New City of Jerusalem). Now look at the size of the new heaven

16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia[a]in length, and as wide and high as it is long. This measurement in miles is between 1,400 and 2,000 miles.

Revelation 21:22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
God and Jesus both live in this new heaven with the people who are allowed in heaven.
Who won't go to this new heaven?
Revelation 21:27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

If all sinners are cast into the Lake of Fire, why was verse 27 written? Is it just possible that sinners who have covered their sins with Love/Charity or by converting people to Christ, just might get to live on the new earth instead of being cast into the Lake of Fire. I can not answer that just yet.

And your point is? Doing a "search" on the name word in the Bible doesn't really show me how that make sense in saying the Bible is the "Word of God". Doesn't it say that Jesus is the Word of God? I will start it off by explaining a question you have asked a couple people:
John 1:1-4

In John 1-4 It is simple to understand. The word was with God and the word WAS GOD and everything was made by the Word (God) that was ever made.

In other words, Jesus was born with the knowledge of God. This knowledge of God is the Word of God or the true story of what God is all about. So the Word came to earth as Jesus Christ to give witness to God or explain the truth about God. This being the word of God or the voice of God and was written in the Bible, so the word of God is also the printed word in the Holy Bible.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The KJV is only one version of the Christian Bible. I read several Bibles to prove or reprove what I read in KJV Bibles. I will say that I have found newer version to be translated in such a way that soon the bible won't reveal the truth. We have to read it now.
The reason I read the KJV of the Bible is because man can NOT understand it. The Holy Spirit must explain it to us andthat is why it takes years to understand it. All bibles and all text may vary in the truth but it was inspired by God so there is enough truth in any Bible to teach us how to find Jesus and live according to His Word. Who am I to argue with that. oh yeah, books were not been taken out of the Bible that I have ever heard of, they just weren't allowed to be added in the first place by the people whose job was to create the cannon. That job wasn't given to us.

I am a Christian and steadfast in my beliefs, not to say I won't change how I believe about something if you show me the prof, so I see nothing wrong with our children learning a little about other religions.
After all, haven't we taught our children about God? I think I read somewhere in the bible that said if we teach our children about God when they are young, they will return to God when the get older if they stray? I may be wrong!
If you or your child can't remember what they have been taught and can not listen to other teachings without leaving their faith, maybe you haven't taught them well. What is wrong with knowing about other religions? Are you all that weak in your faith or belief? I do agree that they should teach all religions if they are going to teach any.
From what I read on these Blogs, who has the knowledge to teach the children any religion? Our children and grand children we be so confused that they will turn from all religions.

I have not seen anyone in our local schools kicked out for these things, but I believe its coming. I dont have to hide my christianity either, not here anyway. In other parts of the country its a little different, just ask the ACLU how many lawsuits they have filed on behalf of people who were offended because some kid was reading his bible on the playground, or some other nonsense like that.
Yes I was hanging with the wrong crowd, but it wasnt just the wrong crowd then like its not now. To think that our schools are drug free is a little naive. Btw, I wasnt selling drugs in school, and I am not proud of the things I have done. I also told my parents that I didnt see any drugs either.

I agree with that statement, but that's not what you've been advocating. You would be highly offended if the same students displayed artwork with Islamic references, or spoke about Islam in front of the whole school. But you're also offended that Christian students aren't allowed to do the same thing. You can't have it both ways.
Have you ever thought that, by merely teaching about major religions (which is in the curriculum at any middle school in Tennessee), teachers are merely trying to promote and teach tolerance? Teachers are not, by nature, any more or less "evil" than any other group of human beings. I would argue they are actually a bit less due to the nature of their profession. I do wish to note that the points you bring up are ancillary to what is actually being TAUGHT within a classroom (you have made no link to curriculum being taught at all), and this is what drives public education itself. Anyone with internet access can go and look at the state standards that must be taught in public schools. Maybe, instead of sensationalizing this (which, I understand is your job) you should try to understand the whole story and report on it.

He'll get more informed and sophisticated with time but don't expect that to mean his sense of mission or his values will be diluted.
Right now,he may seem stuck with hand-me-down thoughts from one extreme of the religious spectrum because that's the closest thing he's found to what he's getting from God.
Later on,he might find a few more resources and role models and he might learn more about when these people are speaking for the Lord and when they're operating out of human limitations.
Haven't we all had that experience while we were building our sets of beliefs?
Some shades of thought can't be expressed while we have the mental equivalent of a beginner's four,fat crayons.
They arrive as we get to the point where we are using the big box of 120 colors (with the built-in sharpener.)
As a person grows in awareness and gains more tools to apply what he knows,he's able to deal with his world in greater breadth and depth.
Don't write him off because he may not have gotten all the polish and insights God has in store for him.
God isn't done with any of us yet,either.
Michael has the hard part down already.
He loves God and wants to serve Him with 100% of his being.
He may not ever get so refined that he can make his perceptions match the notions of every person ready to give him a critique.
But,then,he doesn't have to adhere to any party line whether it be liberal or conservative.
He's only obligated to listen to his Savior and he might just know that a bird that depends on just his left wing or right wing will never get off the ground.

Yeah I know you didn't mean that you would personally do, but I do know where you are coming from. I find it unfair to allow his blog of "religion" without some counter blog for people that see "his" personal religious views of Christianity.

Well, it was just a thought and not something I would do personally even though I get offended by his comments. I just view them in the context of who he is and just give my two cents and move on.

I don't agree to remove michael's blog, instead they should allow someone with a different view to have their own blog.
Actually, if push comes to shove someone can file a complaint with the newspaper to take down Michael's blog because he is basically supporting and advocating a form of hate which is no different than what the KKK and the Phelps family promote on their websites and I am sure the Times Gazette does not want to be associated with that.

It is not a schools job to promote religion of any kind, whether it is Christianity or Islam. A school's job is to teach a student the basic foundation of knowledge to succeed in the world and to teach tolerance of other individuals so they can work together in society.
While I don't agree that schools should be promoting any form of lifestyle or sexual preference, I am sure the moment of silence for gay rights is no different than a moment of silence to pray or anything of the same nature because school are not suppose to be promoting any form of religion of beliefs. I wouldn't want any children I had being subjected to Michael's butchered form of religion and I am sure he doesn't want his children being subjected to my beliefs. Schools are filled with diverse groups of people from different backgrounds and so the schools must keep everything in perspective and try and not cross any one line which can be difficult.
But really, if you are obtaining your news from the AFA website then you are already getting views that are distorted and worded to fit a particular agenda.
Also, the "homosexuals" have the no agenda except to be treated with equality which is something all human individuals desire and wish to obtain. I seriously doubt that they want to burn down churches or throw down the existence of Christianity . . . they just want simple basic rights. They don't get a free toaster every time they convert someone to their "unjust cause" or have secret meetings to thwart the Christian foundation and to believe so just goes to show how narrow minded some people really are.

Times of silence,meetings at the pole,bumber stickers,tees,buttons and ribbons will be effective right up until the time that they become so numerous and trivialized that none of them stand out.
One may start out with a sincere effort to call respectful attention to something and wind up with folks debating the genetic manipulation of cucumbers (turn the skin inside out so they'd have dimples instead of pimples) so one can get attention/miss work during National Pretty Pickle Day.
Some folk will try to sensationalize things to get parents in an uproar while others will go into denial mode to maintain a facade of bland,homogenous bliss.
Neither prepares students for a future of examining an issue,taking a stance on it and taking the consequences of adhering to one's principles.
None of that asks that the child think about where one person or institution's rights stop and another's begin.
When it's all reduced to a gimmick rather than a goal,children lose sight of what they're meant to think about and make no decision other than whether to follow the crowd or dismiss the whole matter altogether.
We need knowledge,courage and sensitivity.
None of these need to be put in opposition to the rest.
We need to encourage ourselves to learn how to think,how to respect those around us and how to make positive changes in the world.
We won't do that by smothering ourselves in trendy,politically correct psychobabble and we won't do it by letting a succession of grandstanders make us alarmists who see nothing benign or hopeful in our surroundings.
It seems that Michael believes that religion should not be allowed in schools, except HIS religion.
Also, schools are NOT sponsoring a day of silence. That is sponsored by some gay and lesbian organization, and I haven't heard of any students in any of our local schools trying to organize any such event, have you?

Of course anything being taught in the schools besides Christianity is going to sound outrageous, WE LIVE IN THE FREAKING BIBLE BEALT. Everyday there is going to be someone raping our ears with their beliefs.
Did anyone stop to think that maybe the "dress as a muslim week" was because everyone is so damn paranoid about 911 and the teachers may be trying to steer the children away from stereotypes? OR maybe, just maybe, it's about teaching them different cultures where they're not as obvlious as the adults in this society? I personally think it's a great exercise if done for the right reasons.
When I was in school, all the teachers were Christians. They didn't boycott morning prayer meetings, but as soon as some student mentioned an Aethist meeting, all hell broke loose. I do agree that religion (all of them) should be banned from public schools. AS far as the drugs go, there will always be drugs in school until drugs go away (same circumstances with adult jobs). You'd rather make you child suffer because you are so scared of something that you know very little about. Wow.
