Remember Mad Max

Posted Thursday, May 22, 2008, at 5:26 PM

Remember the little known actor named Mel Gibson in a movie called Mad Max.

The plot was over oil and gas, gee! sounds like true life.

Could you imagine people getting ran off the road or killed just for the gas in their vehicles.

People selling loved ones or themselves for gas, oh! I forgot some people will do that for nothing.

If there is a raid on hosepipes in the store watch out!

As usual Hollywood portrays real life , or is it the other way around? I don't know.

Notice that the bad guys are all about wasting what they're willing to kill for.

(Yeah,sounds like real life.)

A lot of people get turned inside out by the pain, disillusionment and other loss in their lives.

It can get to the point where life seems about getting whatever you can at another's expense, saving your own hide and wondering what the next spin of the wheel will bring.

But,in the long run,we can live without the world's glamours and cliques.

We can survive without the toys.

We have to be able to hope, improvise and look out for one another.

That's what keeps us going.

We don't need to be living the end of the world to remember that.

But,we'll reach a downfall a lot sooner if we forget it.

Here's hoping we can build a tommorrow-morrow land that's more oasis than desolation.

I got a chain letter email a couple months ago that sounded like the answer to the high cost of gasoline.

It recommended that we send an email to all our friends and buddies and encourage them into doing the same thing.

The contents of the email contained the idea or stop buying Gasoline from the two major oil companys, Exxon and Mobile. You could buy all the gas you want, just don't buy from the two big companies.

This would force them to drop their prices in order to stay in business. That would cause a "Gas War" and gasoline would be priced lower again.

Sounds like that would work, but everyone would have to get involved in sending out the message. That is where the chain-letter effect would come in. Each person sending 10 emails, etc.. Millions of people could read it this way and join in.

I would think it could work, but only if everyone pulled together. No one would have to do without gas, just buy it from the other dealers.

Unique

It's a good idea, but we would need to do some research and find out where the cut rates like Kroger - Wall Mart - Golden Gallon - Pilot- ect. buy their gas from. Most will tell you they don't know.

Any ideas how we could find out?

When in doubt there is always the internet!

So much for that idea. The two are now one or it may be three who are one, Exxon-Mobil-Essco.

Trying to get a list of their oil companies is like hunting Top Secret information. You get the run around just like getting political answers.

Anyway it has already been tried in 2000, 2001 and again later on.
