6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 6:4 And there went out another horse [that was] red: and [power] was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
Revelation 6:3-4 KJV This horse is obviously Satan for he took dominion of this world when Christ ascended to heaven. Since then we have had countless wars and deaths and murders and also sorts of evil to happen. From the murder of Abel it has been in men's hearts to kill one another, by hand or by with weapons of mass destruction. I see these horsemen as eras of time that will soon end and a new time will begin when war is finally no more, oh what a wonderful day Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

A Few Thoughts

This one I'm not sure about, It's a man and he was given the power to take peace from the earth. Well only God can give power to someone.
This could be satan because God did give him power when he was in heaven, it diminished some when he was thrown out. But satan is still pretty powerful.
Or God appointed a man for this specific purpose.
God used Pharaoh, and He used others in like manner to carry out His plan.
True, but I believe in eras as in , God has set forth times and seasons for his purpose.
The 7 church ages all existed in reality and they exist in types now.
The HORSEMEN I believe have been riding since the death of Christ.
The reason I am starting out with the horsemen is to lead up to a special passage that will get a lot of discussion I am sure.
The Black Horse will ride tomorrow
I've never studied the 4 horsemen. I have read the verses many times but never tried to figure who the riders were. I always felt that the 4 horsemen was about the horses and what they represented. You could put satan as the rider of all 4 horses and it would still read the same. Put i would satan on the 2nd horse myself because of the word power. Satan was given the power to rule this world so satan is the rider who would fit best as a rider who was given power to take peace away from the world and cause chaos and confusion. Satan is also the father of the lie and a Murderer from the begining, so that rider would more than likely be satan if we have to name a rider.
I think the 2nd horseman is more about all the deaths from wars and senseless killings than who the rider is.
I agree with Unique-Lies I think if it were important to know who the riders were God would have been more specific about their identity. I think the more important thing is what they can do.
