The Day That Will Live In Infamy!

Posted Sunday, December 7, 2008, at 2:44 PM

Let's not forget that today marks the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Remember all the ones who gave some with their time service and effort and those who gave all with their lives.

The attack brought America out of hibernation, because we had become complacent with our position in the world.

911 did the same thing, it was a wake up call to tell us that we are not as well liked as we think.

I believe there will be a 3rd wake up that will be worst than the first two.

Though we are following the same path as other empires of reaching the top and letting financial destruction and moral decay bring us down.

We are ripe for the picking, I just hope we have young men and women to rise up the way they did in WWII and after 911 to give us the freedom we cherish so much.

Though we don't all agree on what morality is , men and women have fought and died for all of us.

God Bless them all and most of all GOD BLESS AMERICA!

We need to bless God and thank him for his Son who gave all so we might have salvation and eternal life in him.

When we have the next attack depends on when a foe becomes foolish enough to wake up a sleeping giant that gets awfully grouchy when her slumber is disturbed.

As long as we're left alone,we can proceed as if everything's fine and nothing we care about is at risk.

While the enemy is in stealth mode,he can rob us and attempt to bind us so that we can't interfere with him or defend ourselves.

Fortunately, anyone who pits himself against the Almighty is not terribly bright.

he will not content himself with subtle assaults when he can indulge in a loud, flashy act of self-promotion.

This thief-in-the-night wants to see the fear, despair and anger in his victims.

But,his desire to show off and intimidate alerts those he would harm so they can flee him, seek help-and retaliate so fast and so hard that he is defeated in an instant.

This attacker has nothing that can destroy us.

He can steal from us while we are unknowing.

He can con us into believing he is a friend.

He can bluff us into surrendering unto him.

What he CAN'T do is take us on once we're aware of him and ready to defend ourselves.

he CAN'T succeed once we take up our arsenal against him.

he can make some gains against us if we don't know we're at risk.

he can manage o.k. if we lock ourselves in a saferoom and cower until the siege is over.

he does well enough against the sort of victims one sees in horror movie parodies.

But,we aren't given the whole armor of God just to protect ourselves.

We are given what we need to go on the offensive.

We may be too peaceful to start a fight-but we can finish it.

satan takes on the role of opponent and aggressor because he has lied to himself.

he goes out as a roaring lion but he's more like an old, blind, arthritic Chihuahua with no teeth.

(he seeks whom he may devour but they'd better be pretty soft.)

he can survive against the big dogs so long as they aren't aware of him or they believe the bark and stay under the porch rather than protect what's theirs.

But,he cannot withstand the force of a vigilant, trained, armed body under the leadership of a great Commander.

satan may be making preparation for a big party but what he assumes is a pinata is actually a hornet's nest.

We may not be able to ward off his blows but we'll see that *he* gets stung and we wind up swarming over the punch and cupcakes.

Michael,

You are right. So many have never got to live to the age we are. They died fighting for our freedoms we take so easily for granted. I know I am guilty of taking their sacrafice for granted. Next to the sacrafice offered by Christ nothing comes closer than the sacrafice of a soldier.
