Number 1 of all time!
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100...

Normally a person has to have a complete life's work before he or she reaches hero status.

We know what Jesus did obviously[or at least I do] Mother Theresa, Gandhi, Mlk and all the rest deserve the name hero, legend, or even icon status.

Obama has done nothing to deserve any recognition but to be the first African- American to become president, Whoopee!

I will give him the benefit of the doubt and see what is yet to come, but to dare put him in the status, much less to be more popular than Jesus is blasphemy!

No one goes above Jesus because he done it all and is the only chance for salvation.

Obama may not be the Anti-Christ by some accounts , but he sure is something, we will see!

I don't know why you post pictures of Jesus as though somehow you know that is what he looked like. For all you know, that could very well be a false idol.

Hey Michael, cut President Obama some slack. Give him a chance.

Your number 1 guy of all times - started out by being the son of a virgin. How many people could live that down today? He grew up being the son of a carpenter and a carpenter himself.

When his father died, Jesus would have been the first born son and inherited Joseph's carpenter business, fortune and responsibilities.

Instead, at the age of 30 he was baptized and started his ministry, leaving his family and going out with the fishermen.

we read that Jesus walked all over the countryside with fishermen claiming to the people and the Pharisees and Scribes that He and God were one and he was the Messiah!

He deliberately stirred trouble up with the Pharisees and Scribes and the Roman authority. AT the time of Jesus, The Jews were being taxed and ruled by the Romans. The Jews were waiting for this Messiah to come and save them from the Roman Empire.

Jesus talked about saving the people, but didn't lift a finger to save them from the Roman empire. What a disappointment that was to the Jews.

It wasn't till after Jesus was crucified that the disciples began teaching what Jesus was all about and how He would save the world. Even then, the people thought that Jesus would return in their time and save them from the anti-Christ with this Rapture.

Okay, so Jack Van Impe said that President Obama is liked by all the nations around the world and even said the world would follow Obama. He also stated that Obama would usher in the One World Order, which started years ago but was spoke publicly of by President George Bush Sr..

Our country is the super power of the world so it will more than likely be where the Anti-Christ comes from. It may even be where He rules until he moves his office to Jerusalem. It's true that if China called in our debt to them, they would own us. It has also been proven that when a country was in debt to another country, the indebted country just went to war with the county that owned them and defeated them, making the debt void because they owned the other country after they defeated them.

The U.S. has enough nuclear weapons on each nuclear submarine that we own and operate all over the world, to destroy the whole northern hemisphere. Of course, that would no doubt destroy the whole world, just like a huge meteor crashing into earth.

If, like you say, the year 2012, will usher in...?, then I would say it would be the beginning of the One World Order.

President Bush gave a stimulus package to the Finance world to bail them out, but they are still foreclosing on the people who have to pay the money back.

Obama is fixing to do the same thing. Why bail out the auto industries when we the people won't be able to buy the cars that they will be able to make with their fortunes? Or will they spend the money for vacations, retirement for top executives or company jets?

SO they are going to give us on Social Security $250. how is that going to help me when my groceries have doubled, water bill has gone up and Duck River charged me $450 this month for the same power I use every month. I think not! They are charging me for their clean up and extra oil they have to buy to furnish the power. Isn't that their problem?

Oh well, don't get me started on monopolies and businesses that provide a necessity, like the Propane Gas Company who wanted to go from $250 for a tank of gas to over $800. I made them come and get their tank last year. You should be able to look at me and tell I wasn't born yesterday. Oops, I did it again.

Let President Obama, do whatever it is he has to do. Time will tell.

God has foretold the end times from the beginning!

Isaiah 46:9-11

9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

All I can say is we as Christians can not change what God has planned. We just need to continue trying to save as many souls as possible. All of those who think Obama is greater then Jesus and are looking to him to save them, will one day know how wrong they were.

Saw a church sign that said: For your salvation do you want smoking or no-smoking, I think that sums it up pretty well.

-- Posted by bellbuckletn on Sat, Feb 21, 2009, at 5:05 PM

Oh brother, here we go again Michael. Thought you weren't going to use politics to gain any religious influence. (Not that you have by what you stated) double yawn!!! Can't do it on your own huh! Good luck with that...

-- Posted by up north on Sat, Feb 21, 2009, at 6:22 PM

micheal, i know alot of people are expecting Mr. Obama to be the One to help them out of whatever, but in the end he is just a man like all of us. Our position as a true Christians, is to pray for those who are in authority over us.

I may not agree with everything he says.... i need to pray that he will make the right choices, and not be unwise. That he has wisdom in his discisions and not be led about with a flattering tongue.

The Holy Spirit can talk to him just as well as me.

-- Posted by 4fabfelines on Sat, Feb 21, 2009, at 7:11 PM

I agree , and I do pray for him, but his meteoric rise to fame worries me.

-- Posted by michaelbell on Sat, Feb 21, 2009, at 7:30 PM

michaelbell,

You pray for him, "BUT"? Why do you worry about his sudden rise to fame?

You have said you are ready for the rapture and you will be raptured up before the anti-Christ begins his reign, so what worries you? Are you worried about us who won't be in this rapture you have been taught about? Pray for us and go on with your life.

As far as Obama being one of our presidents doesn't worry me. He will have gray hair and look older in a matter of a few months just like all the other presidents. It is a stressful job because their hands are tied. They get blamed for everything that happens and the media doesn't let up.

-- Posted by Unique-Lies on Sat, Feb 21, 2009, at 11:03 PM

"They get blamed for everything that happens and the media doesn't let up."-- Posted by Unique-Lies on Sat, Feb 21, 2009, at 11:03 PM

If they have an "R" after their name that is true, but so far the media hasn't questioned anything about THE OBAMA. Instead they tell us about the tingly feeling that runs up their leg while in his presence.

I hope the MSM does come to it's senses, because the majority of Americans are asleep at the wheel and are easily contented with the bread and circuses of the left. I wonder if what's left of the country will be worth saving after this administration is done with it.

-- Posted by quietmike on Sun, Feb 22, 2009, at 12:58 AM

Can we stop bickering long enough to join together to do some good ourselves instead of predicting which people in power are going to inflict the most damage?

We have plenty of challenges right here we could address and people we could pray for.

(Even if we lacked the resources to do anything else,we could achieve a lot by doing that.)

We have the minds, hearts and talent to be the difference we want to see in the world.

Even if the Day of the Lord is at hand (and it makes the scenarios given in the book of Amos look like a church picnic) there will still be simple, ordinary moments when everyday people can demonstrate the love of God.

Let's try doing what we can in our own backyards and under our own roofs and maybe,we can show the big shots with all the tricks and tools how it's done.

Pray on it and pick your own battles.

I don't know where the Lord might assign us.

But,if we keep our eyes, ears and hearts open,we can find *something*.

I don't think I'm any more likely to end a war, clean the environment or solve an economic crisis than the next guy but I found out jacks4me's dog,Star could use some extra good thoughts sent her way.

Between the loving care she's getting from her family and a little intercessionary prayer, she might get to feeling a lot better soon.

I think I could manage to do that and ask God to bless some humans in need, too.

Even when One has an unlimited supply of power,I don't think One parcels it out to others that easily.

I think God offers it more freely to those He thinks can use it responsibly.

Maybe,He knows something about our leaders we (or they) don't.

But,what we have will depend on our stewardship.

Are we going to be satisfied with complaining about our problems (and how dangerous or inadequate other folks are ) or are we ready to implement some solutions ourselves?

I really don't think anyone can trully call him a hero. However, a lot of young people of color now have a role model other than MLK. That is a good thing in many respects.

The real kicker to the whole thing is that he is only half black (African Descent) and half white (caucasian), and the correct english word for this first generational genetic combination is "MULATTO". I hope this doesn't offend anyone, it is just a racial fact.

Americans regardless of skin color or genetic make-up should respect his position as our Commander in Chief. He is only one of many sitting in Washington trying to solve our many problems. On his own He can do nothing! Many people have to sign off on anything He wants to do. His hands are really tied to our laws and our Congress as a whole. Anything he says can be over ridden by acts of Congress.

Lets just hope He can be a true figure-head for our country in such a manner that he may be called a hero.

Why is it that when a world view is given from a biblical perspective it gets trashed and drug through the mud along with those who give it?

Are we not allowed to have our own individual opinions and perspectives on issues, like world events, abortion, homosexuality, and all the problems in out own nation?

If we look at everything from a secular[worldly] point of view, will we be accepted?

-- Posted by michaelbell on Sun, Feb 22, 2009, at 9:26 AM

According to Proverbs 3:5 we are to trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean NOT unto thine own understanding. That goes for interpeting the bible and to things that occur in your life.

Pray for the President and let the Lord lead him, and God will hold him accountable to the decisions he makes. We can't change what God has planned for each of us in our life. We are going to go through some terrible times ahead but we have to trust the Lord will lead us through them.

God not the government will take care of you.

I did not vote for Obama nor believe on some of his policies but I do see the significance of what he has accomplished for black Americans. When the prison populations in this nation are made up of around 60% of blacks yet they only make up around 13% of America's population, then having a role model like Obama definitely shines a light to those individuals in the black community that they can accomplish anything and don't have to accept the status quo.

I do however believe the media has hyped him too greatly and eventually people will become disenfranchised with obama because he definitely will not live up to the many expectations that people have of him and he has already stumbled on more than one occasion. I wish him the best but in the long run I know is flawed because he is human and all humans are flawed by nature. He is a politician who wishes to push his political agenda just like Bush and many presidents before him . . . I seriously doubt they ever have the people's best interest at heart and especially those in congress like Pelosi and Reid who maintain power also.

To be honest . . . in the garden and Michael Bell are the same kind of people in my eyes, they only difference on what side of the spectrum their beliefs belong but their mind set in justifying their beliefs and how they view the world from that remains the same.

what about the "kingdom of GOD " that is mentioned in our LORD"S prayer ? Let thy kingdom come , thy will be done ? Surely "HIS" kingdom is just around the corner to take care of all these problems When it comes to the path of life--- adults are like children. They are not capable of guiding their own steps. This was pointed out long ago by Jeremiah: "O Jehovah, I know that the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps."--Jer. 10:23, AS.

This fact is evident from the state of this world. Because it has rejected the wise guidance of God's Word it is a confused muddle. It is eaten through by corruption and torn by violence. This is the result of man's foolish effort to direct his own steps on the path of life. It is a folly that began ages ago when Eve wanted to decide for herself what is right and what is wrong instead of following the guidance of God.

So trust in GOD, lean not on self, or Obama .He is there because God allows him to be ..... for now .

Acknowledge GOD in this matter, and he will direct your path.--Prov. 3:5, 6; Matt. 7:16-20.

I personally did not vote for Obama either (no secret) but I think he is doing what he feels is best for this Country and that's exactly what he was elected to do. I do not agree with everything he is purposing by any means but I want him to be successful. His failures well be our failures. We can't handle many more failures right now. I will stand beside him unless I see his decisions are not in the best interest of the United States and it's people. He's not just your President he is mine also.

Yeah, quietmike, that's about the craziest thing I've read on the t-g today. When he gets done with it? Looks like we're already a sinking ship. We've got an illegal war George W. lied to get us into, we've got record amounts of debt (from George paying all of his military contractor buddies), we've got lots of white collar-crime with tons of financial fraud that was totally unregulated... and you have the nerve to say when Obama gets done? Wake up. Living in a tiny little disconnected town sure does show, doesn't it?

-- Posted by in the garden on Sun, Feb 22, 2009, at 3:16 AM

assuming we take all you've said on face value as truth, what is THE MOST HOLY AND ANOINTED ONE trying to do to solve any of it?

Illegal war?-Just vowed to send 17,000 more to Afghanistan.

Record debt?- Passed a 800 billion dollar "stimulus package" that will give the average American $8-$13 more a week. WOOOHOOO Now I can pay off my mortgage and help this country get on it's feet. (btw-frisbee golf courses in Texas might help too)

Unregulated white collar crime?-Kind of oxymoronic don't you think? If it's unregulated how do you know its a crime?

I do think it's funny the same folks who were swooning over Obama like teenage girls on the front row at an Elvis concert are starting to realize the kool-aid has a bad aftertaste.

-- Posted by devan on Sun, Feb 22, 2009, at 2:23 PM

dreemweever,

The kingdom of GOD is already here on earth. It is just around the corner for anyone who wants it.

The world is in a state of confusion, bankruptcy and turmoil. That is why God doesn't want us to get involved with the world or worldly things.

God has told us (from the beginning) that the anti-christ will come and have all the answers to the problems of the world. This will let us know who the anti-christ is when it happens.

God wants us to experience the kingdom of GOD.

Where IS this "Kingdom of God" here on earth?

It is within you, not a place on the world somewhere.

Luke 17:20-21 (King James Version)

20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

You act like Obama is referring to himself as being the greatest. How can you blame him because the nation and the media have labeled him this way? Do you really think he would put even that much more pressure on himself.

-- Posted by flat creek girl on Sun, Feb 22, 2009, at 4:04 PM

(waves to flat creek girl)

Now,that makes sense.

The President might think differently if he's citified but down-home folks (from never connected places like flat creek, new herman, wheel or raus) might keep a low profile until their deeds spoke eloquently for them rather than raise outlandish expectations that would have to be backed up with hard won reality.

As Walter Brennan once said:"No brag. Just fact."

When the honeymoon period is over, the Obama detractors will likely find him far less threatening while the rabid fans will be less impressed than they are now.

I'd wager they'd all find him pretty human.

But,we aren't that fond of reality.

The people a blatantly genuine God led out of bondage preferred a graven image they knew had no independent power or substance.

That was its whole appeal.

The icons we create we can destroy, control and manipulate.

The ones that can act, speak and think on their own are bound to disappoint.

The sooner Obama is revealed as a man instead of a concept, the sooner the blind adulation will stop (or be transferred to someone else.)

The President may be identifying with a certain famous leading man.

A man said to him:"I wish *I* could be Cary Grant!"

Archibald Leach (who,as Grant, had won acclaim and the adoration of thousands of fans) murmured fervently: "So do I. So do I!"

Mike the illegal war reference is to Iraq. Don't be so dense. I know it is hard, but you can do it.

Moreover, all of that spending creates jobs and puts people to work. To boil it down to "OH IM GETTING 13 MORE BUCKS A WEEK!!!1" is very dishonest as well.

go troll someone else

-- Posted by in the garden on Sun, Feb 22, 2009, at 1:19 PM

He could stop the war in Iraq with an executive order just as easily as he shut down Gitmo. In fact the Democrats could have stopped the war anytime in the last few years by simply stopping the funding going to it. As for the illegal part, I'd love to hear a RATIONAL explanation of how you believe it's illegal- I know the Bush Derangement Syndrome version, but I'd like to hear one based in facts.

As far as the stimulus package creating jobs, why then is three fifths of the spending not going to occur until after 2010??? Strange for a bill that was said to be so important for our economy and needed to be passed RIGHT NOW!

Show me where to sign to opt out and I'll be glad to do so. Unfortunately I, and my children, would still have to pay for this folly.I have neither seen nor heard anything from this administration that I want any part of.

Cuba and China already have socialist governments in place if that's your cup of tea. No thanks.

So where does illegal wire tapping citizens and handing out $700 billion to banks come into play? What about NCLB and all of its government mandated testing? After all, our taxpayer dollars paid for the food, the shelter and healthcare of each and every prisoner in GITMO. That is socialism, my friend, perhaps the tea is just decaf?

Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Engrossed as Agreed to or Passed by House)

HJ 114 EH

107th CONGRESS

2d Session

H. J. RES. 114

JOINT RESOLUTION

To authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq.

.......

(2) acting pursuant to this joint resolution is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorist and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

As has been discovered and proven, Iraq had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the 9/11 attacks.

There are numerous "rationale" reasons why it illegal, but getting that through an irrational skull seems to prove just as ineffective as the war itself.

-- Posted by Vindicated on Sun, Feb 22, 2009, at 10:47 PM

Cutting off funding was not the way to end the war. Would you have our boys there without the proper equipment? No Bullets?

If they are going to keep our troops there they have to keep funding the war. I disagree with this war more than anything that George Bush ever did but cutting funding without bringing the troops home would have been suicide.

-- Posted by Dianatn on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 12:12 AM

You might want to brush over diagramming sentences again so you will be able to understand their meaning more clearly. The portion of the sentence after the double forward slash can be removed and still keep the full meaning of the sentence.

"(2) acting pursuant to this joint resolution is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorist and terrorist organizations, //including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001."

Iraq did commit terrorist acts by gassing the Kurds, and invading Kuwait. Iraq did have WMDs. Iraq did violate the terms of the cease fire numerous times. We were well justified to go back into Iraq, because they did not abide by the terms of the cease fire and ignored several warnings by the U.S. and several members of the U.N. Therefore it IS NOT an illegal war.

-- Posted by quietmike on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 12:27 AM

Also, your comment that the Democrats could have just cut off funding is ludicrous. Cut off funding? And commit political suicide? Do you have any idea how horrible that sounds?

-- Posted by in the garden on Sun, Feb 22, 2009, at 11:37 PM

At least you are honest about why the democrats didn't want to stop the war. They were much more interested in scoring a few political points than in either the lives of our soldiers or victory.

-- Posted by quietmike on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 12:30 AM

Quietmike, its a 2 year package of unprecedented extra spending. You expect them to just dump it all on everyone right now? Governments and localities have to get prepared and figure out what projects are going to start, reorganize to hire hundreds of people, and create whole new departments to even deal with it.-- Posted by in the garden on Sun, Feb 22, 2009, at 11:37 PM

The idea that the U.S. can be saved by hiring a bunch more beaurocrats , so they can plan a bunch more government projects, is absurd. Government is a parasite feeding off the producers of the country and Obama is giving it steroids.

If you were laid-off and were looking at foreclosure and bankruptcy, would you decide it was the perfect time to go on a missive shopping spree?

That is exactly what congress and Obama have done.

-- Posted by quietmike on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 12:38 AM

If I said "I think all liberal presidents have been a detriment to the country, including Barak Obama." anyone would clearly see that my intent was to blame ALL liberal presidents and was only holding out Obama as a recent example. The same is true with the resolution. This is the same misunderstanding of sentence structure liberals used when they advocated the 2nd amendment didn't apply to individuals-until SCOTUS straightened them out.

I would dare say I am very well versed with interpreting statute as it was my job for six years. :-)

As for being libertarian, yes I am. As for the insufferable part-seeing that it's coming from an Obamapologist I'll take it as a compliment!!!!

-- Posted by quietmike on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 4:04 AM

"It also begs the question of "Why are we attacking Iraq for terrorism when they gassed the Kurds years ago?" I don't think you've an answer for that, either."-- Posted by in the garden on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 1:43 AM

This Iraq war is a continuation of the war in '91. In between times we had a president who was more interested in interns than in enforcing the terms of the cease fire.

It is not specifically for them gassing the Kurds, but that is one example of the Hussein regime's willingness to use terrorist tactics.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, but 9/11 lowered the threshold of America's tolerance in regards to terrorism.

-- Posted by quietmike on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 4:49 AM

I love how people keep mentioning Bush's name and how he made so many mistakes to justify mistakes being made by Obama. I didn't vote for Bush and he made plenty of mistakes but that doesn't mean that I am suppose to sit around and not complain when Obama makes the same or totally new mistakes. That reasoning which is evident by comments from in the garden and darrick_04 just shows a lack of intelligence or political awareness and also mentality that is totally one-sided which they like to accuse others of having.

As they always say . . . two wrongs don't make a right and just because Obama is making different mistakes than Bush still doesn't make it any less of a mistake. What do you expect from people with such limited thinking skills though?

-- Posted by jaxspike on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 6:47 AM

Hussein and his three sons were terrorists. They were even Terrorists in their own country, raping, torturing and killing their own people just to watch them suffer and/or die in agony.

Good riddance! I was glad to see us go in and take them out.

However, the main Terrorists were eliminated so it's time to get out and let the Middle East take care of their own.

If we are going to stay, then I would think we should at least remove all the weapons from the civilians over there so we can do whatever it is we are suppose to do in Iraq. That is the first thing they do here, in our country, is to remove any weapons "FIRST" for everyone's safety.

These people in Iraq won't even let the contractors rebuild their cities or buildings without killing them or kidnapping them. We can't keep the peace in a country that has civilians walking around day and night with rocket launchers and ground to air missiles strapped on their arms. They don't even aim them. They just stick them around the corner of a building and pull the trigger. Where the missile lands and/or destroys... they don't care. It's like little kids playing war.

It's time to pull out and let the cards fall were they may instead of our fathers, mothers, sons and daughters who are serving over there.

The stimulus package is a joke, and a very bad one. It will only help big corporations and the people who need the help will have to pay back the debt, not the corporations who get the big bucks.

If everyone in America got $1,000, it wouldn't be enough money to stop or even slow down a foreclosure. A tax free $1,000 isn't going to buy the unemployed a job.

Jobs is what is needed but road work and bridges? Come on now! We already have road construction workers who every year in late summer get to go out and repair perfectly good roads just to use up the budget money so they can get the same amount or more the following year. Nothing really big happens until just before the fiscal year comes up, then they resurface a good road again that uses up the last of the budget money in a hurry.

The State resurfaced the 1-24 Interstate south from Bedford a few years ago. When they were done, it was the worse resurface job I'd ever seen. I actually quit taking the Interstate south. It was suppose to be a quick way to use up the money in the budget. It no doubt cost them more in the long run.

By spending this money on roads and bridges, it will only hire a few new people because most people can't take the heat. It will give a lot of overtime to the many road and bridge workers.

Of course, that will make the roads and bridges a lot safer for all the new cars the Auto Industry will be able to put out with their bail out money, even if the people can't afford to buy new cars for several years to come, unless they get a job working on roads and bridges.

STIMULUS PLAN EXPLAINED

Shortly after class, an economics student approaches his economics professor and says, "I don't understand this stimulus bill. Can you explain it to me?"

The professor replied, "I don't have any time to explain it at my office, but if you come over to my house on Saturday and help me with my

weekend project, I'll be glad to explain it to you." The student agreed.

At the agreed-upon time, the student showed up at the professor's house. The professor stated that the weekend project involved his

backyard pool.

They both went out back to the pool, and the professor handed the student a bucket. Demonstrating with his own bucket, the professor said,

"First, go over to the deep end, and fill your bucket with as much water as you can." The student did as he was instructed.

The professor then continued, "Follow me over to the shallow end, and then dump all the water from your bucket into it." The student was

naturally confused, but did as he was told.

The professor then explained they were going to do this many more times, and began walking back to the deep end of the pool.

The confused student asked, "Excuse me, but why are we doing this?"

The professor matter-of-factly stated that he was trying to make the shallow end much deeper.

The student didn't think the economics professor was serious, but figured that he would find out the real story soon enough.

However, after the 6th trip between the shallow end and the deep end, the student began to become worried that his economics professor had gone mad. The student finally replied, "All we're doing is wasting valuable time and effort on unproductive pursuits. Even worse, when this process is all over, everything will be at the same level it was before, so all you'll really have accomplished is the destruction of what could have been truly productive action!"

The professor put down his bucket and replied with a smile, "Congratulations. You now understand the stimulus bill.

Pride and covetousness got us in most of the pickle we are in now.... we wanted something more, something "fancy", something the "Somebodies had"! And we forfeited our time, our families, our country to do just that!

Take a look at the rural areas of our country where people work hard and are not at all influenced by the materials things of wealth. They drive old cars and trucks that may not look like a shiney new penny, but get them where they are going. And most of them are American made. They eat at local mom & pop diners, and buy groceries from the store "in town".

When we became "citified", we wanted those fast fancy foreign cars that made us look like a million bucks. We wanted to drive 30 miles to go eat at a "fancy" restaurant, and go to the grocery and buy "organic". More, more, more. Now those fast fancy foreign car builders are raking in money that we can't pay the bank for... and I would venture to guess that not much of it is stimulating the economy in the good ole USA either!

-- Posted by bkpow on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 12:25 PM

Also, the American taxpayer will also be supporting British jobs if the U.S. government decides to buy 40% of Citigroup.

I am so comforted by that(yes, that was sarcasm).

The "New Deal" was the name that United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave to a sequence of central economic planning and economic stimulus programs he initiated between 1933 and 1938 with the goal of giving work (relief) to the unemployed, reform of business and financial practices, and recovery of the economy during The Great Depression. The enactment of New Deal policies lasted from 1933 through 1938.

FDR and the Federal Reserve came up with these proclamations;

Executive Proclamations 2038, 2039, 2040 and the War Powers Act of October 6, 1917 (a/k/a The Trading with the Enemy Act)This is where President declared a banking holiday and made it a crime to hoard Gold; He declared the president could do anything he wanted to without the consent of congress, anytime this country was in a state of emergency; He then declared a State of Emergency because of the banking holiday and the depression, so he could confiscate the Gold and Gold Certificates from the people.

The Trading with the Enemy Act was amended to give the president the right to do whatever he wanted to without Congress's consent.

"The actions, regulations, rules, licenses, orders and proclamations heretofore or hereafter taken, promulgated, made, or issued by the President of the United States or the Secretary of the Treasury since March the 4th, 1933, pursuant to the authority conferred by Subsection (b) of Section 5 of the Act of October 6th, 1917, as amended [12 USCS Sec. 95a], are hereby approved and confirmed. (Mar. 9, 1933, c. 1,Title 1, Sec. 1, 48 Stat. 1]".

The "First New Deal" of 1933 was aimed at short-term recovery programs for all groups. The Roosevelt administration promoted or implemented banking reform laws, emergency relief programs, work relief programs, agricultural programs, and industrial reform (the National Recovery Administration, NRA), and the end of the gold standard and Prohibition.

He took the Gold and Gold Certificates away from the American people and exchanged it with the Federal Reserve Notes which are ONLY redeemable for another Federal Reserve Note. Our money is "Fiat Money" and only valued at face value regardless of what the metal it is made out of is worth.

Half of our country look at FDR as a hero, while the other half of us think of him as selling us out to the Bankers who now own our country and everything we possess. Our money is backed by the United States and the productivity of the American People.

Only Gold or Silver coins can be made as legal tender in our country. So when we use a Federal Reserve Note, we are not paying our debt nor paying for what we buy. We are only creating another debt (adding it to the U.S. deficit) for the United States to pay when it's debt is called in. The United States is Bankrupt and has no money to pay its debt so the banks own our property etc.. By using the Federal Reserve Notes, we become co-signers with the United States Government and must pay back their loan with our productivity (or property).

These new Stimulus Packages only add to the free money Congress gets from the Federal Reserve (payable with interest when called in by the bankers). We are even indebted to China also.

All that money Congress gives to the President for wars, state of emergencies, stimulus packages, etc. just goes onto the bottom of the debt the U.S. owes the rich Bankers.

That is where your Tax dollars go. You tax dollars don't go into roads and programs to help our country. It all goes to the International Monetary Fund which isn't even a U.S. owned company.

Hopefully President Barack Obama won't go to such length as FDR did!

-- Posted by Unique-Lies on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 2:20 PM

You missed the whole thing didn't you?

President John F Kennedy got it and started minting Silver half dollars and printed silver certificates so we would have silver to back up our money, so we wouldn't be in debt to the IMF. Kennedy was assassinated. LB Johnson took over as the President and the first thing he did was to melt down the silver half dollars and call in the silver certificates while Kennedy was being buried.

Anyone hoarding Silver would be fined and/or imprisoned. Johnson then passed The United States Coinage Act of 1965.

The United States Coinage Act of 1965 states (in part):

United States coins and currency (including Federal reserve notes and circulating notes of Federal reserve banks and national banks) are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes and dues. Foreign gold or silver coins are not legal tender for debts.

31 U.S.C. § 5103.

This statute means that all United States money as identified above are a valid and legal offer of payment for debts when tendered to a creditor in the U.S.

This is contrary to the U.S. Constitution, so it is null and void when applied to "we the people".

Volume 16, American Jurisprudence, 177

"The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law, is in reality no law, but is wholly void, and ineffective for any purpose; since unconstitutionality dates from the time of its enactment, and not merely from the date of the decision so branding it....

in the garden- do you live in the "tiny little disconnected town" of Shelbyville? Just wondering

-- Posted by cookie on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 6:50 PM

Why does everyone seem to think Shelbyville is a small town?

Bedford county was so large that years ago part of it was given to Tullahoma and Lewisburg was created from Bedford county. At least that is what I was told at the court house years ago.

-- Posted by Unique-Lies on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 7:30 PM

This should be quite interesting :)))

-- Posted by parkerbrothers on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 9:30 PM

I wonder what the title will be.

"In the garden tells unique lies" or

"Uniques lies in the garden".

-- Posted by parkerbrothers on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 9:33 PM

Geez, I am going to bed and read it tommorrow.

-- Posted by parkerbrothers on Mon, Feb 23, 2009, at 9:35 PM

It seems that all in the garden wants to do is belittle everyone in this town.He or she, even has to have something bad to say about our paper. So why does this person even read it?They must not have anything else to do.It really gets annoying reading all of these comments, never nothing nice to say.

in the garden,

Sorry, I was watching Dr. G and Medical Mysteries and ER shows.

Here it is:

Article I, Section 10, clause 1 of the United States Constitution!

No state shall enter into any treaty, alliance, or confederation; grant letters of marque and reprisal; coin money; emit bills of credit;

-> make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts; pass any bill of attainder, ex post facto law, or law impairing the obligation of contracts, or grant any title of nobility.

Unique-Lies reveals yet another "Unique Lie" with proof!

-- Posted by Unique-Lies on Tue, Feb 24, 2009, at 12:10 AM

parkerbrothers,

No Titles in that answer, only an Article number, Section Number and Clause Number.

You will have to add a Title to it if you need one.

-- Posted by Unique-Lies on Tue, Feb 24, 2009, at 12:42 AM

If you read Article I, Section 8, clauses 1-17 you will find that the Central Government only has jurisdiction over all the people in 5 or 6 matters maybe 7.

We the people are the Sovereignty in this country, not the US Gov. The only powers the US Gov has over the people are listed in Article I, Section 8, Clauses 1-16.

These are the rights that were given to the Government by the Constitution.

Next, the States get all the rights that are left unless the constitution forbids them to the States.

What rights do the US Constitution forbid to the states? All the rights that are our rights which are guaranteed to us are forbidden to the States, unless we give the States our rights.

This is where you must know what your rights are or you lose them to the States or the US Gov. If you don't know what your rights are, You don't have any!

-- Posted by Unique-Lies on Tue, Feb 24, 2009, at 1:27 AM

honda14, I like your story, but I am afraid you left out the ending....

After the young student went home, the professor called over 10 of his closest friends and they all got a good laugh when they had related to them the story of the questioning un-insightful child.

The professor then passed out buckets to each of his friends, and they proceeded without further conversation, to dig into the bottom of deep end of the pool bringing the gravel and sediment from the deep end to the shallow end.

-- Posted by Evil Monkey on Tue, Feb 24, 2009, at 10:45 AM

My Dad, who grew up during the great depression had the best response to Rosevelt's WPA, he called it "We Piddle Around". I feel the same thing is going to occur again, someone is going to be piddling around with our tax dollars.

-- Posted by Sharon22 on Tue, Feb 24, 2009, at 10:51 PM

Sharon22,

"We Piddle Around"! That is a nice phrase for what the scums are doing with the money!

I saw on TV tonight where another of the Big Finance Companies had a Huge Party with some of the money they got.

I feel like that is FRAUD and they should face criminal charges for spending the money that we have to pay back, because they won't be in business long enough to pay back their share of the ill gotten fiat money.

That is just as bad as scam artists stealing the life savings from the Senior Citizens or from anyone as far as that goes.

I lost everything I worked for when I was 40 including a foreclosure because there wasn't any Bailout money for the poor white trash back then. I had to start over again from nothing.

I moved to Tennessee because I couldn't afford to live in Florida any longer. I bought a lot on land contract and built my own home with out of pocket money (Cash left over from my paychecks). I don't owe anyone anything on my home. It is completely paid off and debt free with no leans, loans nor mortgages. It took me and my son 20 years to do it, but we did it.

You have gotten quite and it makes me worry about you Bro.

You did not get electrocuted with a toaster, did you?

I am here, I have been fighting the stomach flu for a few days.

I am over it now, thanks for asking.

I have been in deep research for a while and will post later this weekend, till then God Bless!

-- Posted by michaelbell on Fri, Feb 27, 2009, at 7:47 PM

michael,

Have you been following the Jerusalem Post recently? Any interesting articles?

I wanted to tell you that I am almost through with Galatians in the Ancient Christian Writers Commentaries. I have been more than pleased with the book. Although Galatians remained Galatians as expected it was exciting and insightful to read the commentaries of many of the first, second and third century writers.

I have read several other commentaries on Galatians including the wonderful 14th century works of Martin Luther and modern day commentator John MacArthur but this was the best for me.

Look forward to your next blog. Glad you are feeling better.

-- Posted by parkerbrothers on Sat, Feb 28, 2009, at 4:34 PM

Yeah, but nothing major, but I did learn something interesting, I will give the highlights here.

If you believe that "history" repeats itself, which I do and if you believe that God works in cycles and patterns which I do, this will be of interest.

From when Israel first came into existence they have been at war, some minor and some major,of course history shows that the nation was scattered but we know that on May 15 1948, Israel was reborn.

Every war since then has been with the same nations in the same order, the next one has to be with IRAN if it follows the pattern of history, we will wait and see.

-- Posted by michaelbell on Sat, Feb 28, 2009, at 4:52 PM

Are you going to post more on that topic later? Sounds interesting.

Shame on you for just posting the teasing highlights. :)))

You will have me up all night just wondering what you have researched.

-- Posted by parkerbrothers on Sat, Feb 28, 2009, at 6:23 PM

"History is a myth agreed upon." Napoleon Bonaparte.

"The past isn't dead; it isn't even past." William Faulkner.

"No two historians ever agree on what happened, and the damn thing is they both think they're telling the truth." Harry S. Truman

I ran across these three quotes and thought that they would be a good lead in to the next subject which is history and whether or not it repeats itself.

How the present state of America is so similar to the histories of Rome and Israel both is the physical and the spiritual sense, and how history will repeat itself, Jesus came once and he will come again!
