Chiseled in Stone

For those country music fans out there , we lost Vern Gosdin yesterday, he was known as the voice and until Randy Travis was the only one to hold a candle the the great George Jones.
I just got his greatest hits CD and it has played non stop all week. He once stated the the best songs, not the most popular , but the best songs came from true life experiences and from the heart, he got 10 hits from his last divorce. He was ramping up for a new tour when God wanted him to come tour heaven and sing there with the other greats. And as the title says, you don't know lonely till it is chiseled in stone. You will be missed R.I.P Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I have always thought it was his heart doing the singing. I have the greatest hits cd also and have literally worn it out.
I can remember back in 1988 winning tickets to a Vern Gosdin concert from WLIJ and wondering who I would take and my mother said she'd like to go cause she'd never been to a concert before. So I took her and she had a blast. That was one of the many things that I remember so vividly, she passed in 2001. And that "just about does it, don't it!" He will be missed in this household for sure. God Bless Vern and his Family.
Amen!
