IN HONOR OF ALL VETERANS!Posted Sunday, May 30, 2010, at 3:12 PM
tomorrow honors the veterans who never came home alive. The ones who gave their lives for their families, friends, and for people they never even met. They fought for causes they believed in and died for causes they didn't agree with, for this they have my undying gratitude and respect ,all I can say is thank you and God Bless YOU! I have talked to veterans of all wars since WWI to Desert Storm and have gotten chills from the stories, a dear friend who was cursed and spit on when he came home from Vietnam, who passed away recently told me stories which chill me to this day. When he died he was on the streets, broke, sick and forgotten,is this the way we should honor those who fought and those that died, so we wouldn't have to fight them here? No matter what branch, what era, what war you fought thank you, for those that died may you rest in,peace for the survivors of those great men and women, thank you for your sacrifice, and MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA! Micheal this is the BEST blog you have ever written. Thanks for being loving and positive.. I can wholeheartedly agree.. Thanks so much for our service men and women.
AMEN Michael,...AMEN
Thanks Michael,
I just got back from a weekend of camping and enjoying our freedoms. I wanted to take my dad down to the camp but he didn't want to go. He is now 85 soon to be 86. He fought in WWII and so did my moms' cousin. I would like to encourage everyone who knows any WWII veterans to seek them out today and thank them for their service. They won't be around much longer and that little bit of recognition just might be the thing that gives them strength.
What a blessing they are and how quickly they are passing into history.
Graet blog!
Amen Brother Michael. May God continue to bless this once great country. And may the memories of all who gave their lives for our freedom, never be forgotten by any of us. One day the Eagle will fly proud again. Thank you to all veterans today and to those who serve still for a thankless country. God Bless The American Soldiers of yesterday, today & of tomorrow.
Michael- Thank you for the kind words, as you know our bothers and sisters from the Shelbyville unit are currently deployed for the 2nd time. When I deployed I was active duty, and it was probably harder on my wife and children than it was for me, I have found that it is much harder to "stay behind" than it is to leave. These men and women deserve our utmost respect, however, lets not forget the ones that they leave behind, without the support of the spouse, these great soldiers could not do what they do, it takes a special woman to be a military spouse, I am glad that I have one....
