Thom, thank god you are scraping off those bumper stickers with Thompsons name... Now, if we could just work on those "Bush/Dick '04" stickers you still see... Ron Paul seems like an interesting candidate, though my vote is pretty set in stone.
I must say that I do agree with most of Dr. Paul's agenda as outlined on his campaign site. He makes very valid points and what he is advocating when speaking of America remaining independent from international influence, border control, gun control, limiting national government, controlling spending, and limiting the collection of information by the government all sound like winners to me. I like the way he isn't afraid to open his mouth and say things that are true, no matter how unpopular they may be. Personally, I think Dr. Paul's number one agenda is to make America strong from within. If you are interested you can find out more at his website: http://www.ronpaul2008.com
Why does Dr. Paul get ignored by the media? I think it is because big business like oil companies and banks know that Dr. Paul will fight for the American people's interests not big business' interests and that makes them nervous. If they feel that he is close to winning they will attempt to destroy him in the media. Who do they support? Follow the money... Hillary Clinton. Dr. Paul is a dark horse, but I think he is saying what America needs to hear.

I really haven't given Ron Paul much consideration or studied what he is all about, but if what Nathan has written about him is true, then he will be getting my vote and I'd like to know where to sign up to help the man get elected.
Anyone that puts America first and scares banks and big oil should get voted for by any American that doesn't own lots of stock in those types of companies.

Nathan, I have to agree with you. I know that I've been a Fred Thompson supporter since before he jumped in the race, but unfortunately he seems to be WAY too tied into the Bush/Cheney/Baker bunch for my liking. I hate to say this, but I'm probably going to have to scrape my Fred stickers off my car and switch them to Ron Paul stickers shortly. He has a great platform and I think that if he is heard more from in the main-stream media, he will stand a good chance of winning (getting votes from both parties). I'd really like to see him win and switch to the Constitutionalist party while in office.

There is something very strange going on in this presidential race, and I'm not sure what to make of it. The mainstream media has almost completely ignored Ron Paul. When they do mention him, he is laughed at, and not taken seriously. He barely registers on the "nationwide polls". On the other hand, the internet community has him built up to be the saviour of our country. On Monday, he raised $4.3 million online in 24 hours. I don't understand how a candidate can be shunned by one form of media, and so loved on another. What's going on?
Unfortunately I believe that alot of Ron Paul supporters' tactics are turning alot of people off of him. Ron Paul seems to be a strict Constitutionalist, which is a good thing. These "unsanctioned" tactics that his supporters are using are having a negative effect.
