I don't agree with many of the causes of the ACLU, but when the subject is government and industry collecting and using data for purposes beyond what it was originally intended I totally agree.

This sure is an eye Opener... Never though of it this is scarey....They want to control our lifes.and know more about me than I know about me.
If anyone is really worried about privacy issues, imagine what will happen if the government controls your health care.
You might also look at the RealID act, and the Driver's licenses with RFID chips that will be a requirement soon.

Just go ahead and Bar code the forehead.
AMEN!!!
Um, do you guys really believe this crap?
What crap?
Okay, name just ONE government funded agency or program that is run efficiently, without corruption, mismanagement or outright fraud, and then profess your belief that the government needs to run our health care. Some people just never learn.
I trust for profit insurance corporations to run my healthcare less than the government. Remember, not paying on a claim is profitable.
So using that logic your social security account has better performance than your 401k?
My 401K is down about 30% for the last 12 months, and was down about 50% at one point. How many people in Bedford County do you think put funds in a 401K or other retirement plan? most people live paycheck to paycheck; social security provides a base. I do not believe that markets are perfect; especially with present day multinational corporate monopolies and the lack of antitrust litigation over the last several years.
I'm almost 51 years old, and I have never been more scared of our government than I am right now. Not one single socialist society has ever been successful, not one. It has been repeatedly proven by history itself that socialism will always be a dismal failure. Liberals somehow are STILL convinced that socialism can succeed. A liberal friend of mine recently stated that, in spite of the fact that socialism is a proven failure, it still looks good on paper. Since liberal progressives are socialist by definition, I can come to no other conclusion that Liberalism is indeed a mental disorder.
Example: Both Canada and Great Britain's social health care systems are proven failures, yet our very own president wants to model our health care system after them.
Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting the results to be different.

See Tattoo, you lowered Chief's IQ to 60, and poor jim8377 can't create a complete statement now. Yes Tattoo, "you have right."

I personally know several hundred here in town who invest in a 401K.
For the record social security's return averages around 11/2%-not even keeping up with inflation. A diversified 401k invested in a good mix of mutual funds will average 9-12%.
The point being the private sector outperforms the government in nearly every area that can be named.

What good is an IQ to someone who can't even answer direct questions?
Seriously, are you incapable of responding to people who disagree with your point of view without being a jerk?
