Remember when this was in style?Posted Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at 9:15 AM
Fashion definitely works in cycles, and trends come and go.
What trends of the past make you cringe? What are some of your favorites that have gone out of style? Personally, I can't stand tight and tapered jeans that are so trendy these days. Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

Annie Hall has been resurrected as steampunk.
(Just add some stuff from the 70's Victorian era,the 80's cowboy days,a little Edwardian and Great Gatsby and throw in clockwork and goggles.)
The idea is to be eclectic, individualistic and ready for adventure should an Emmet Brown,Buccaroo Banzai,Captain Nemo, time lord, slayer or airship pilot require a partner.
I loved the way people dressed in the 80s, anything goes back then. They had the Don Johnson's, the Geeks, the Jean Jackets, the Heads, the Flock of Seagulls, The Alts, it was pretty awesome.

Ha...I had a pair of those "MC Hammer" pants. I just loves them back in the day. LOL

Desert Dog hats and leather pants from the 80's..Oh yeah...LOL Hair parts in the middle for men in the 70's.. Rat tails and or mullets from the 90's....ugg
I HATE those low waisted jeans and pants out now. I want more coverage. And, they look terrible plump and skinny both.
I like the skinny jeans and truly hated the flare leg.
During my college days, men's shirts and leggings were popular and quite adorable IMO.
Fashion circles back around doesn't it? They just rename it
Micro Mini skirts became minis
Elephant ear pants became gauchos
Hot Pants became Daisy Dukes
Halter Shirts became cut offs
Boot Leg jeans became Skinny Jeans
Granny Skirts became Peasant Skirts
Ponchos of the 70's look striking like the capes today.
So maybe this tells us we should hold on to our out dated fads...because they will be back.. Question is Do we really want them to come back? LOL
The homemade romper suits that women wore in the late 80s, early 90s. Makes me think the circus is in town.
I hated the high waisted jeans from the late 70's.
The FLashdance torn sweats, leg warmers and Big Hair -- don't miss them at all.
I miss the Annie Hall look, though, where grown-up women wore baggy shirts and men's vests and tried to looked arty and intellectual instead of like sleazy teenyboppers.
80s was awesome. There were a few fads but it was a great decade for fashion, music and fun.
OMG the madonna look from the 80's.It was so tacky.
I'm really glad the heavy make-up from the 80's is gone.
Those multi-colored yarn vests were pretty gross in the 1970s, if you remember them. Well, pretty much everything in the 1970s, actually.
I remember when I use to "peg" the bottom of my jeans! How embarrassing!
