Champagne wishes ...

Posted Friday, January 28, 2011, at 10:39 AM

Is Valentine's Day a cliche' or do people actually celebrate it? If you're one of the lucky ones, what has been your best Valentine's memory. If you're a dreamer, what are you hoping for this year?

I've long since moved past being a hopeless romantic. Now I am just hopeless. Who needs champagne, fondue, fireside dinner for two ... Massages, foot rubs, diamonds or pearls? All that takes away from the 8 hours of sleep I'm wishing for!

Post your thoughts on Valentine's Day!

Please don't misconstrue my thoughts on Valentine's Day. I think it is absolutely fabulous for lots of reasons. I only hope that it doesn't cause anyone "hurt feeling", or any other kind of "grief" if a "big deal" isn't made of it. Love, Caring, Thoughfulness, Kindness, Nice-ness, and Happiness are all things that doesn't come in a box...or envelope. They are everyday ACTIONS. I suppose, after 47 years of marriage, whether I want to admit it or not, I have grown up and have gotten over a lot of things. One thing I have not gotten over, nor will I EVER get over, is I am more crazy and in love with my husband today than ever before. We have shared many happy, sad, exciting, wonderful, fantastic times together, because we have always been best friends, and we each knew it. Everyone have a wonderful Valentine's Day, just knowing that if it doesn't come with sparklers, you each know down deep what you have. AIN'T IT WONDERFUL!!!!

My fiance and I have been together for two years and this yr is what we're calling our very first V-day. Last yr I was out of state on V-day the yr before that we'd just begun dating and V-day was extremley akward for the both of us. But alas this year we're right on target... Although I'm certain that his wants and mine differ greatly indeed. He actually works that night so I'll be home alone unless I can convince him to take that day off. =) But if I had to say what do I want for V-day? Im 20 yrs old. And Im female. I want chocolate. Dove or Hersheys will do. BUT NONE OF THAT GENERIC CRAP! I want a gourgeous hand written letter from him professing his undying love, I want a huuuge stuffed animal that I can use as a pillow yr round and I want hugs/kisses all day long a billon I love you's. And a hot steamy night to top it all off. What will I get? A hug and kiss before he goes to work. Its okay. I'll still buy him a beautiful card, and some candy. Happy Valentines Day.
