Legal Marijuana = Tax Dollars
Posted Thursday, March 17, at 10:32 AM

We Need. Those two words seem to be the beginning of every sentence that comes from our elected official's mouths, on all levels. I am sure you have heard our county commissioners utter the words, "We need a new school", "We need a new jail" and the funds to pay for these items will undoubtedly come from increased taxes...

Early voting is now over but I know that there are many people that have yet to vote. With election day approaching on March 1st, I wanted to touch on one issue that is on the ballot, whether or not to approve the wheel tax. A Wheel Tax - For or Against?
Posted Tuesday, September 11, at 5:46 PM

The discussion of a wheel tax has been a hot topic for the past few days and I have heard support and opposition of such a tax. I know our teachers have a hard job and the average salary for Bedford County teachers is below that of surrounding counties. Also anyone who takes a drive in any direction will quickly agree that we have many miles of roads that are in dire need of repair...

Cancer Affects Any Age
Posted Wednesday, February 1, at 6:33 PM

Most everyone has been affected by cancer in one way or another. Either you have had it or someone in your family, a friend, a coworker etc. I think it is safe to say that everyone knows someone that has been affected by this horrible disease. "You have cancer" are three of the worst words to hear from your doctor I would say, but what if you heard those words once and beat the disease only to hear those words again for a different type of cancer? What if on top of that your father passed away from cancer during your own battle? It would be a tough part of life to make it through no doubt. ...

No Social Security Checks???

I am sure all of you know that our "leaders" are in Washington trying to come to a budget agreement. Are the high gas prices taking a toll on your bank account? With gas prices near $4.00 per gallon traveling anywhere is getting more costly. A draft of a bill called "Transportation Opportunities Act" was released from the Obama administration last week. ...
