eBay, always changing

Posted Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at 6:53 AM

As changes occur to eBay, I will post blogs about some of the more interesting ones. It is easiest to do this by just copying the info I send to our class members.

I sure am glad that I mentioned that one of the "constants" with eBay is change. eBay is now experimenting with the Buy It Now feature. In class we discussed how that would disappear on an auction listing as soon as the first bid was made, but now they are testing alternative methods of timing on that.

In other words, the BIN option would stay on the listing even after the first bid! It is being tested in a few select categories right now. If you want to follow the progress, go to this link on eBay Forums. It will be interesting to see how they handle this balancing act.
