I Lost It On eBayPosted Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at 4:29 PM
We received a call today from someone who had âlostâ an item on eBay. They did not buy or bid on it when originally found but when they came back to check on it, it was gone. Three basic things could have happened. The item was removed by the seller, the item listing expired or the item sold.
In most cases, the item can be found by doing an âadvanced searchâ under âcompleted listings onlyâ. This can only be done by registered eBay members, but since it costs nothing to register....
From there you can find out who (eBay name only) bought it, or who was selling it. By clicking on the link for the buyer or seller, you can send a message through eBay to see if it is still available or of the new owner might want to sell it. It never hurts to ask.
By the way, when you find that something special, you can click "watch this item" and eBay will notify you if there are changes to the listing, if it is about to expire, if a bid has been placed on it, etc.
