Henry Horton put out a good selectionPosted Thursday, November 22, 2007, at 5:20 PM
For those who may want to give thanks by not having a bunch of leftovers and dishes to wash, Henry Horton Park did a great job of feeding the hungry today.
Even saw a few T-G folks there. Bo would not say who was running late, but you might ask David, he knows. They don't take reservations and the lobby fills up quite nicely at opening, but they were able to get the line down quickly and everyone was in good humor. It is an all you can eat buffet with ham, turkey, roast beef, ribs and all the trimmings. We had many who encouraged us to try it. They were right. A trip well worthwhile. The roast beef and ribs was yum yum!!
I did miss the dark meat but found plenty to replace it. Just curious Betty, what time of day did you go? While we had a great meal, maybe we should avoid a certain time.
We also went to Henry Horton for Thanksgiving lunch. In the past we cooked at home. Then we let Kroger cook for us. I can even remember eating at O'Charley's before they decided to let their employees have the day off. We were very disappointed in the food yesterday at the park. They only had white meat, & my brother-in-law likes the dark turkey meat. Some pieces of my turkey weren't quite done. There were other complaints after we left. We were all reminscent of previous meals eaten there, & this one didn't compare.
We all had our complaints about the meal, but we were thankful to be alive & in good health. We were thankful we could afford a hot meal. We were thankful for each other's company.
We were also there today and agree it was well worth the drive.
