Garden Gleanings - SOMEONE STOP ME!!Posted Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at 12:01 PM
I placed another seed order just now. Found a great new seed source from Eliot Coleman's wife Barbara Damrosch and the description were so enticing, I gave in. May need to set up a plant swap or something to help justify these. http://www.kitchengardenseeds.com/index....
Speaking of Eliot Coleman, he is coming to Nashville on March 15 to speak at the Tennessee Organic Growers Association (TOGA)and conduct a class. http://www.tnorganics.org/
I remember when the editor of Organic Gardening (Mike McGrath) came to Nashville during the Garden Show. He had a lively and interesting presentation. Up until then I was not sure that editors really know what they are overseeing, but Mike did. I visited with him in Emaus, PA the next year and stay in touch, even though he is no longer with OG. http://www.whyy.org/91FM/ybyg/about.html
Eliot is a quiet man who loves growing first, so it will be interesting to see how he handles himself in front of a crowd, and expect it WILL be a crowd. Maybe his wife Barbara will come. She was not home when I visited their farm but I hope she comes. Knowing Eliot makes me feel that she would be a delightful person to visit with. http://www.fourseasonfarm.com/
