General Motors dealers will start listing their certified used car inventories at eBay Motors in the second quarter this year according to a snippet article in the Kansas City Star.
I have not seen that from GM yet, but we will be teaching a class for GM employes this week, so..... maybe. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I don't know about buying a car from ebay. I am not sure I would buy a car that I haven't even driven. But that's just me I am sure there are people who do it all the time
I share the same feelings, but yes there is quite a thriving business on eBay Motors. I sold a large camper for someone about 6 months ago to a fellow in Indiana and it went smoothly. He came to pick it up, which means he got to see it in person before he paid.
I can understand your hesitation Diana. But I can say that the only two things I've ever bought on ebay were used vehicles. Both transactions went smoother than most local dealers. Even after shipping costs I saved money. Just pay attention to feedback numbers and the number of transactions. Look up the feedback comments too. Be prepared to walk away from an auction if you're not comfortable with the price.
I did buy a used car on ebay from Florida, but I flew down there, drove the car and had it checked out with carfax before handing over any money. Maybe I just got lucky, but I got a great deal and love the car. Dealerships on ebay often offer a three day trial in which you can have them pick the car back up if it isn't what you wanted or expected.
