eBay Chatter - Keep it off eBay- SHOOT IT DOWN??Posted Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 4:54 PM
When I first heard of the failing satellite being shot down it was to avoid large pieces and toxic fuel from making it to the ground. Now there is a report in National Geographic that it might be to keep parts from being sold on eBay??!!

It seems a while back there was something else that had fallen and people were finding pieces and selling it on ebay. Was it a space shuttle maybe I don't really remember what it was..I remember them telling people to leave the pieces alone that it was government property and a lot of those pieces (or pieces people said it was) ended up on ebay anyway.
Apparently they are concerned that the Chinese will be the buyers. I can appreciate that concern, especially if the equipment has sensitive technology.
Ah who cares. people are too sketchy about stuff. Quit putting senstitive information into equipment hovering in public airspace and we wouldn't have to worry about it.
