I recently went through a challenge with my websites and corresponding e-mail addresses. Because I had been doing some maintenance work on them, I was sure the problem was within the website or Internet Service Provider.

Alas, wrong again. Since this had many people perplexed I will share what we found out. I use Outlook Express and decided to try the feature that allows you to block e-mail spam. I never saw any great reduction, so I stopped.

HOWEVER, something in that feature caused my OE to start blocking everything coming from two of my e-mail addresses. We did not know that until desperation set in and I cleaned everything out, including my blocked sender list. Bingo!

As soon as I did that, e-mails started coming in again. None of my addresses were in the box but apparently within the routing information, there was some reference which resulted in the block. Beware!

It was the e-mail block from within OE. I use OE extensively, but this particular feature backfired on me.

Some of my Internet Service Providers offer the spam blocker, but I get e-mails from all over the world and they were deciding things were spam that were not, so I have them all turned off.

I don't have time to keep checking to see what they siphoned off and when I do, I am days late, so....

I do use my virus checker though.

Was it the Outlook Express or the block for spam mail ? I have also thought about adding the Outlook Express. But my Web-Mail has the block in it.It is called Grey Mail and all the e-mail that is bad goes to it and I am able to go thru it if I want or just Trash it.
