Blog vs, Forum vs. ??

As I understand it, a blog is basically a one person show where people respond to topics. Sometimes they divert the topic but someone looking at the title would not know it was diverted. Thus if they were not interested in the title, they might miss a conversation that they WERE interested in because they did not know it had changed.

A forum is moderated by one or more people, but members can start a topic of their own. Kind of like blog where all members are bloggers. Is that correct?

Finally are there other forums and what are their advantages. What is Twitter, Squiddo, Myspace, Facebook, etc.

Are some more local than others?

The ecommerce is a forum, this site is a blog. On a blog you would have to delegate certain users to be able to have their own blogs.

Where as a forum is alot easier to manage because you can fine tune permissions before you designate the moderators.
