Levi 501 Unbuttoned Trash AdvertisementPosted Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at 9:20 PM
I am not real prudish and our daughter is now in college and on her own, but I found myself embarrassed and astonished at the recent ad for Levi Unbuttoned jeans.
I don't want to give it more exposure than it already gets, but my opinion of the the values of their management and advertising department are in the trash at this moment.
The ad shows two young people who have obviously just met, know little about each other but are undressing as they make their way upstairs to complete their undressing. The guy lives in his car, the girl could care less what or who she is about to be intimate with and this is all played out on TV at 9:00 PM.
Maybe grammar school kids are asleep by now but it is not them that are going to be influenced by this crap anyway. They are hopefully too innocent to understand the implications but teenagers won't miss it.
A sleazy way to peddle their product. No wonder foreign countries think our society lacks values and morals, WE DO! We accept this trash that comes into our home, roll our eyes and say what can we do?
I can not say more without getting down in the gutter with them, so I will stop here. I just had to say something, and I will to them directly tomorrow.
