The VP vetting begins as a result of bloggersPosted Monday, September 1, 2008, at 4:56 PM
One of the great things about the internet and blogs is that the individual can have a voice that is heard around the world. One of the drawbacks is that it shows the both the great side of humanity as well as the seamy side. There is very little way to know what is truth or not and very little accountability for accuracy.
Some have chosen to imply that Governor Palin's youngest child is actually their daughter's. This has resulted in the Palins making a private matter, very public by stating that their 17 year old daughter is in fact five months pregnant, plans to have the baby and also plans to marry the father.
Mr. Obama made a statement that he firmly believes in family being off-limits adds that he does not condone it and will fire any of his workers if he finds someone behind this. I believe him and that should be that, but the press is running with it.
I believe we suffer when many qualified candidates shy away from public service because so much of their family's privacy will be lost. Is family off limits?
