How did the Weed'em & Reap meeting go?Posted Friday, October 24, 2008, at 9:58 AM
I missed it because of an eBay class out-of-town, so how did it go? I am sure Jere was a gracious host and had great gardens to discuss, but.....?
Are we having another meeting on Halloween? Where? Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |
Steve Mills and his wife have one daughter and live on a farm outside of Bell Buckle. They previously owned two coffee/ice cream shops, currently operate an internet sales company and teach classes, but his primary job involves the paper industry worldwide. Hobbies and interests lie in gardening, photography, recorded music and of course, their pets.
Hot topics My peas are looking great, numerous flowers, but no peas!(4 ~ 11:13 AM, May 19)
Reality shows, thumbs up or down?
Are we done with this roller coaster temps? Garden tidbits.
Request to explore Bell Buckle's past.
Do you remember the duo of Pat & Victoria Garvey? aka Mr. & Mrs. Garvey?

The meeting was great.
Terrific food and a easy, fun atmosphere.
(I arrived late and we focused a bit more on fun than flowers but we DID talk garden-y stuff.)
We met outside in Jere's amazing garden.
All we lacked were ghost stories and a sing-a-long.
(Maybe they had that before I arrived?)
If we need to change our regular meeting from Halloween night,we could have it earlier or later.
Too bad we didn't pick up on the Halloween date earlier.
We could have arranged to dedicate our meeting to pod people,Triffids,Audrey II from "Little Shop of Horrors","The Ruins","The Happening" and Morticia Addams' garden.
Anyone remember the garden from Jerome Bixby's "It's a GOOD life" or Elsa Lancaster's green thumb from "Night Gallery"?
Maybe "Children of the Corn"-or any of Stephen King's curses with chlorophyll...
"Swamp Thing" had a horticultural spin, too.
I'd rather our hearts jumped, raced or stopped because of fantasy flora than cardiac troubles.
