How about a garden meeting this Friday? Misc. notes from the garden.Posted Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at 5:02 PM
I need to find out before much later if there are enough people to put together a meeting.
The rain sure smelled nice today. That along with the mild temps made me want to get in the garden. Well, not IN the garden but at least I went out and harvested some Chinese cabbage. Just a few outer leaves have been nipped from the freezes lately.
While I was passing some plants I brought in from the garden to overwinter, they tugged on my sleeve to be fed. I had a brand new bottle of fish emulsion that sure interested our cats. I only do a few plants at a time in the house. Does anyone know what the trout farm off Hwy 41 does with their waste?
Our tomato and eggplant are coming back after the move in. I have never had great success with doing this but the cilantro, dill and peppermint are doing well. The peppermint outside is holding on well, so I may give those away this spring.
Writing this made me think about the catnip I brought in. They are staying fresh but don't have much root growth. These are not needed either since they come back like weeds but Debbi says the need to start new plants is a vice of mine.
