Wildflowers, sunflowers for large plantings

Posted Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at 10:50 AM

I recently had a friend ask me for sources that he could buy wildflower seed and sunflowers for an acre plot he wants to fill up. Folks, that is a lot of seed!

You will find wildflower seed is probably more expensive that you think, but I've written a little about it with some sources at http://www.mybedfordcounty.com/Flowers.h...

Many of the wildflower seed sites you go to will have extra information about choosing and growing so be sure to check them out closely. If they have a "site map" they will have it laid out in outline form and is easier (at least for me) to find things.

I too would like to see it, so if you see that they are doing it again, please let us know?

There is someone last summer on Hwy 55 going into manchester that planted a field of sunflowers last summer. I loved going by it and looking at them when they were in full bloom. It was wonderful.

In Texas where i am from, in the sping, there are acres of Bluebonnets for miles. It is absolutly stunning.
