Wow! It is almost time and I have been slow to let you know! Weed'em & ReapPosted Thursday, April 30, 2009, at 9:36 AM
Yup, Weed'em & Reap Garden club will meet this coming Saturday at the Hong Kong Restaurant in Shelbyville. As a reminder to those who are new, we drift in between 6:30 to 7 then kick off all the frivolity and special programs at 7:00.
For those of you who know us, you are probably wondering what medication I am taking because we are actually a laid-back group who cringe at formal things and prefer to chat with our members and let the meeting go where the members want, at the time. We do have a teenie tiny piece of business to finish, but you can count on the majority of our conversation being gardening of ALL kinds. Ya'll come!! Steve Mills and his wife have one daughter and live on a farm outside of Bell Buckle. They previously owned two coffee/ice cream shops, currently operate an internet sales company and teach classes, but his primary job involves the paper industry worldwide. Hobbies and interests lie in gardening, photography, recorded music and of course, their pets.

I'm going to try to bring some lillies. They are the old fashioned kind-orange I think. They were moving into my spinach and lettuce bed and I couldn't have that! I thought someone may want some though, so I transplanted them to pots.
Also, Steve, I'll bring you that pineapple sage.
I have some day lilies I have been meaning to move up to our farm for YEARS and STILL have not done it. They were naturalized on our Bell Buckle property by road crews I guess.
I will reserve a special spot for that pineapple sage. Thanks.
I still have a special on watercress. Take one free and I'll include some more. I had to throw a big handful out a few days ago 'cause they were blocking my stream and waterfall.
Probably will pot up a few of the extra zucchini and yellow squash. Two plants of each should be all we need.
