Tomato challenge. They are being eaten and no tell-tale evidence left behind.

One of our readers is having trouble identifying the varmint or insect, or???? that is eating their tomatoes. With a few exceptions, the plants are totally gone.

A few remnants have been found farther away than what an insect might carry it, but in the soft garden soil, there are no footprints.

The soil is freshly tilled to at least 8". Will underground critters burrow that fast to get to plants? So far, it is just tomatoes.

Something is eating the leaves on my cucumbers also.

Is it eating all the leaf or part? Have you inspected the plant, under the leaf? Nothing?

Rabbits used to eat the blooms off my flowers but left no footprints. They never ate leaves, just blooms. I had to catch one in the act to figure out what was going on. Do they like tomatoes?
