When I read this my first reaction was "No Way", one is a marketplace and the others are social networking but something kept me reading and the guy is making sense.
Much of the fun has left eBay. Probably for both, but I am sure as a seller it has become much more business than fun. http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/05/23/how-facebook-myspace-and-youtube-killed-eba...
Look at some of the eBay ads of years ago and compare that with now, if you see one. Boring!
I used start my eBay classes with Weird Al Yankovic's video rendition of "I bought it on eBay", http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYokLWfqbaU but even I have fallen into the serious funk. eBay may have temporarily (I hope) lost their sense of humor, but I am making a dedicated effort to get back to the fun.
The same goes for living with our daughter's kitten Pepperz. Her energy and playfulness has been driving me crazy lately. Right now I am typing with one hand to keep her occupied and OFF MY KEYBOARD!
My sense of humor has been stretched a bit, but I need to enjoy her antics, even when it means closing all the windows she has opened in the middle of my computer work, saving work before she throws my computer into a tailspin, etc.
She has done more things with keystrokes than I thought possible, and I have learned to type in a whole new fashion. I have never used Control Z so much to try to recover what she has deftly wiped out.
I gotta go. She has just taken over my mouse
