As promised, two plants going as door prizes at Friday garden meetingPosted Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at 9:25 AM
Door prizes for Friday's meeting.
I also have a hard time throwing away cactus cuttings, so if you did not get any from past meetings or are NEW and would like me to bring some, PLEASE let me know. I can send you a picture of them but they are big, flat bladed cacti with minimal thorns. I don't know if the juice can be can be made into jelly, but it does have a nice yellow with maroon center flower once a year as well as deter anyone from getting too close to anything I want blocked. It does not stop cats though. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Although I have a brown thumb myself, I brought my parents back some tulip bulbs from the Amsterdam airport, at which I had a layover during my recent mission trip.
The bulbs are sold at the airport and are labeled with a certificate saying they've been inspected and are suitable for U.S. and Canadian customs. I put them on my customs form and figured I'd have to show that certificate, but the customs people in Atlanta never asked to see them.
As serious as that document is to them, I am surprised. Maybe being bought from the airport is like a customs free store. Did you have to show a receipt?
My friend does not have internet service. And I was telling her about your catus'.She would love to have one. She's been to your meeting 2 times.I will tell her its at Richards this time.
What they will be is cuttings from the cactus. All I have done to replant them is open a slit in the ground and stand the cutting up in there. It may help to prop it for the first season until roots are set.
I will put some in a bag for her this evening. The cut needs to heal over a bit anyway.
Where is Richards Cafe?
I really hope to attend as the last meeting I showed up a day late! I think I need some more oxygen to my brain and that is that best place to get it! haha
I may have to run over to Bell Buckle and harvest some cacti. Love those plants of all varieties.
Richards is at 223 Lane Parkway. Just down the hill from Pizza Hut http://www.google.com/search?name=f&hl=e...
