Weed'em & Reap garden club at Richard's Friday evening 6:30

Posted Thursday, September 3, 2009, at 10:06 PM

I have been a little preoccupied working a new company we started recently. Sorry for the late notice, but you probably already knew we had a meeting coming up this Friday night.

We start at 6:30 and will end around 8:00, closing time.

Can't make it to this evening's meeting. I have a date. With my wife.

And tomorrow morning, I will be out in my backyard hacking at the undergrowth that I haven't had time to cut back since taking the editor's job here.

Got a topic for the meeting or is it a free-for-all.

Oh, I know. It's Top Secret!

Pardon the pun.

EXACTLY! At least I know you remember me Kent. For those of you who don't understand...., I can't tell ya. Really, I can't because that is not the intent of the blog, so.... come to the garden club meeting and I will whisper in your ear.

The meetings are kind-of-sort-of a free for all, but we usually use the internet to research questions to answers, a lot of plant identification and some times look for sources. Several of us will bring plants, or seeds to share and we never quite know what to expect.

We occasionally have planned topics. It all depends on what the members want to do. And by members, I mean that loosely. It is whoever shows up.

I know we are going to lose a few to the Horse Show tonight. Can you believe it? Some would think that the Horse Show with all its pageantry drama and good food could hold a candle to OUR meetings? Guess you can never tell.

Friday nights are once again creating competition with the school ball games and the booster clubs have asked me to consider changing so more people will attend the games. Of course we like to be neighborly, so we might be changing to Saturday night or Sunday afternoon.

Anyone have preferences?

I always seem to be a day late hence me missing all the meetings.

I think my brain is fried from the California sunshine I gathered while I was there for the past week!

I hope to see you all so soon!
