Spring showers? Not yet my daffofil, slow down!Posted Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at 9:09 PM
Most of our 'daffs" are starting to emerge and I fear they will get a shock. Anyone else have impatient spring flowers?
Jere, how about those we planted on the square? I never got around to protecting my figs. I think they will survive what we have had so far, but a late freeze would put them back again. My mother-in-law reminded me that I did not put an extra layer of wood chips on the taro root either. Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

Checked the flower bed on the square. No blubs coming up. But a lot of new flowers on the pansy' bed. I'll watch it and let you know how it grows.
Jan.30, 2010 would be a great night to get back to gardening.
I'm going to go to the square and check the flower bed our club planted. I have not noticed it when I run in and out of the jewelery store. The blubs in my home beds are coming up, too.
We will have a garden meeting. We just have not set the date yet.
Anything big happening on Saturday night January 30th? We may choose to keep Saturdays or move it but have to start somewhere.
Comments everyone?
Did you ever decide to have a garden meeting or not? I think I'd like to come!
I know we have a warm (relatively) micro climate facing South and surrounded by rock walls, a house and rock patios, but could wait a few weeks.
Of course it gets my 'green blood' circulating. I notice I have been glancing at the seed packs a little more than I should.
My daffadil "greens" usually start poking through about now (haven't looked yet this year), but tend to stop for a few weeks and finally finish coming up in late Feb/early March.
I don't have any poking their heads up yet.. weird weather makes them come up early.
