Weed'em & Reap resumes garden meeting this Saturday with a Pot Luck event!!

Posted Thursday, April 15, 2010, at 10:12 AM

I have been running three different ways simutaneously, so I slipped on getting this in the paper and here.

PLEASE get the word out!!

Celebration Way Assisted Living, 895 Union Street. We gather between 6:00 and 6:30 and it lasts until about 8:00.

I understand we even had members meet on Easter weekend, so the excitement must be high. Be there!

Well, we missed you, but we did have a little more to eat. Seriously, I did keep looking out toward the door to see if the movement was you.

Our next one is May 1st and this one was so successful we will do another food meeting. Anyone have suggestions? We had more than enough food, fruit and desserts for at least 5 more sp if you could not bring something, no problem.

One of our group was not going to eat because they came straight from the garden. Well that is what we want to see, so a few ladies fixed a plate anyway and darn if the food did not disappear. I know you were just being polite, but you did a great job!

When we finally got around to talking dirt, some of us toured the area that has been set aside for a garden. Jere has a "water blanket" she wants to test, so half the garden will use that and we will use conventional methods on the other. This may not be the exact brand, but here is what we are talking about http://www.organicgardengrower.com/weed-...

We expect more plants to be swapped in May and we are already talking about what seeds we will be saving for next season. I have PLENTY of that chocolate mint that Tammy gave out last year, so anyone wanting to try it, let me know so I can pot some up.

I apologize for being extremely busy and therefor not as attentive to the blog and our announcements as I have in the past. I don't see that slowing down but I will try to schedule blogging so I don't forget. You can watch and see how I do. (Oh great, I'm back in school) Actually, I would not mind that, so those of you who can not wait to get out of school, keep it in mind that you might want to return some day.

We have family coming over, so I'll have to try and catch you next time.

Oh yes, bring a pot. It can be with food or plants, but I think they mean food.
