Flood zone maps posted on internet?Posted Sunday, May 2, 2010, at 9:20 AM
Our house is not in any danger, but I was checking the internet for flood zone areas in Murfreesboro to check on our daughter's chances of flooding and found that there seem to be none out there.
They talk about where you can get them, but would it not be a good idea to post these on the net so newcomers and folks who have not been through a hundred year flood (most of the rest of us) could know what there chances are of flooding?
I know that wen you buy a house, that information is available, but few probably check it if they are not near a stream. "Progress" also has a way of changing the natural flow of flood waters, so what was not a flood zone, could be one now.
