Garden Club to develop topic schedule at this Saturday's meetingPosted Thursday, June 17, 2010, at 9:25 AM
Youth garden in full swing
We have had some conversations among the members and opened it up to discussion here http://www.t-g.com/blogs/stevemills/entr... Chime in if you would like. We certainly would like that,
We want to help offer new gardening ideas, solve problems, motivate creativity and much more, while having fun and meeting new gardening enthusiasts. You don't need to have any garden, or even have any indoor plants, just want to learn and share.
The link above shows the wide variety of subjects being considered and many of them will come to life, but if you have something that begs for attention now, let us know. Gardening with young people is of particularly interest tome, since I enjoy the energy and excitement of youth and have a desire to help a new gardening generation.
One of our "members" from Celebration Assisted living encouraged us to "DO, don't just talk about it." She was right, we have been talking too much and needed to put our thoughts into action. I parenthesize members because when I thanked her for joining us, she was quick to point out, "Well, I don't have any other place to go". A ringing testimony to our club and refreshing honesty.
If you are interested in creating a "youth garden" and have young children, BRING THEM! Who better to help us determine what is fun for them to do in the garden?
So, let's do it! Come to our meeting and participate. Meeting details http://www.mybedfordcounty.com/Weedemand...
