Ramblings on the tech side, Twitter, software and other nonsense.Posted Monday, July 19, 2010, at 7:42 AM
I can finally understand the attraction of Tweeter. Not that I can envision myself using it, but it is the concept I keep running around in my head about how great it would be if I could record my thoughts as I go through the day (not ALL of them) and then put them in a blog for my Ramblings post.
While I am in the garden, walking around the house, going in to Bell Buckle, etc. there are all kinds of ideas floating around. Kind of like what you get in the shower.
But alas, they escape before I get to the computer again. Here's an idea, I could use something called Paper and write on it with a pen! But I have gotten out of the habit of carrying both of those.
Twitter might help since I almost ALWAYS have the cell phone, but many of those thoughts need to be modified, so I can't just write it and post it. I hear that is how some folks get themselves in hot water with the PC (Politically Correct) police.
When I am fired up about something and feel the need to write about it, I have learned to ALWAYS write it and then let it sit a day or more before I come back to it. If I can't wait a day, I rant out loud fpr a while or go somewhere to do my ooooohms.
I have tried little hand-held records, but then I have to listen to myself for a day's worth of rambling and that ain't good. I have a note pad on this cell phone. Maybe I need to learn how to use it.
There are so many features on my phone and on the different software I use that could probably help me, if I knew it was there. Which means, if I learned all about it, but who uses good common sense?
I still use a calendar that came with my old Palm (not my hands) because it is easy to use and easy to load. The Palm went away 10 years ago. I am sure I have it with newer software but I am "comfortable" with this other.
Probably won't give it up until I FINALLY transfer to Windows 7 since much of my software chokes when I try to use it there. I know about the upgrade techies, it just does not work. Especially for my main CRM software, which has caused a royal pain since something in 7 will not let the software company download a Microsoft SQL, or something like that.
Anyway, I'll ramble about my gardening in another post, since most of my fellow gardeners have tuned out long ago.
