Interesting cue ball zucchini squash from Jere's garden

Posted Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at 8:29 AM

A "modified by nature", cue ball squash photographed by Cindy Calahan
This is an apparent cross between one of Jere's cue ball zucchini (Cucurbita pepo) that she got from Mike that was photographed by Cindy, who just happens to be a member of of the famous gardening group Weed'em and Reap. Actually they ALL are!

I did not get a modeling release for the hand, but we are all among friends and I am not sure who's it is anyway. You can bet I will check hands next meeting, which happens to meet next on Friday July 30th!

Aren't segues so interesting? Huh?

By the way Sheila, thanks for bringing one of our youngest members yet! I believe he stole the attention of more than one member but he was a charmer, so we would love to see him again.

I have one more I picked this week. I hope it will have some seeds, but the ones I cooked had very few seeds. The plant is starting over and I sure hope will produce lots of balls.

That is Cindy's hand. I didn't think about taking a picture. Glad she did.

Of course, she would have to share royalties.

I hope she saves some seed from the next one. She said this one was consumed, but it would be interesting if the seed could produce more.
