Hey, you almost let me forget to announce the next Weed'em & Reap meeting!Posted Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 6:07 PM
Can you see our youngest member? He is paying close attention.
Some of us may bring finger foods but it is not expected or a requirement so don't let it stop you.
PITA (one of our dogs) helped me harvest some acorn squash this week and also divided our water lilies. She must have felt they needed a little drying, so she scattered them across our front yard.
She even tried to peel the squash for us. Poor thing, she did not know that we usually bake those without peeling and the teeth marks kind of take away from the visual appeal, but she was trying!
Our figs are in a holding pattern with this heat and dry weather. With a little (maybe a lot) of luck, we will have rain and they will finish filling out.
Hometown Seeds has offered our garden club over 22,000 vegetable seeds of 16 non-hybrid varieties to share among our members if I put a link to their site in our web page. It is not an affiliate link so we are not getting anything beside the seeds. Here is our page http://www.mybedfordcounty.com/Weedemand... Go to their "emergency survival seeds" package to see what we will get (I hope).
