Pita, PITA!Posted Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at 5:44 PM
Does anyone know this dog? I sure don't.
Now anyone with a floppy skinned dog may already know this, but the skin flops open at the point of the cut and it looked like she had a HUGE chunk of her side taken out. But, when you view it in a relaxed way, it was just a cut. However, PITA is rarely relaxed so I went looking for the chunk of skin to see what she had hit.
Well,as you can guess, I did not find it 'cause it wasn't gone, but she had to make a tip to the vet. Getting her in the truck was like lifting an 80 pound sack of potatoes with legs sticking out into the small front seat floor. Not pleasant.
Getting her out was not much better but we finally coaxed her into the vet's overnight area since she was going to have to be put asleep for the stitching.
I did not look forward to picking her up the next morning because I KNEW she would be another sack of potatoes. The young lady who planned to bring her out to us could not have weighed much more than Pita so I rushed around to help.
They were saying what a sweetheart she was and I was sure they had the wrong dog but out comes Pita, prancing like she is in a parade, comes over to me to say hello and then JUMPS IN THE TRUCK? JUMPS IN THE TRUCK AND UP ON THE SEAT! Hence, the picture of her after I closed the door.
