  • I tried the link to make sure it works, and it defaults to "detect language"

  • So funny you would post this today. I used Google Translate last night to translate the name of the band on George Lopez's talk show, and posted my amusement with the results last night on Facebook, only to have a former co-worker and my college professor sister-in-law take issue with Google's translation.

  • I know what you mean. I developed a brochure for Latin America and when a Mexican rep saw it, he said he would be laughed out of the place if he handed it to anyone.

Locals would know it was written by a formal Spanish speaking person and theirs is a bit different. Kind of like Southerners going to Boston.

I would think it is similar to writing a French translation and taking it to Quebec (which I do at times). It is OK for an Anglo to give it but a local would be given a hard time.

  • By the way, the translation of the original French quoted above did not know what A+++++ was, so the verbal rendition was interesting. A was translated to "to" and plus, plus, plus was well, different.
