Hey, did you see it in the paper? Weed'em and Reap garden club THIS Friday!Posted Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at 12:54 PM
The first meeting of the Weed'em & Reap Garden Club will be Friday January 21 at 7:00 PM.
We are starting a little later so those coming from work can get a bite to eat, if needed, so please do not bring any potluck dishes.
It will be at the Celebration Assisted Living 895 Union Street (Hwy 41 North) in Shelbyville.
We will have a presentation on seed starting, along with discussion and tips from our fellow gardeners. I plan to bring a soil block device and make some blocks for seeding a few plants.
This should develop into a discussion of methods and containers that we use to start our plants.(Bring your ideas or sample containers)
Part of seed starting is a discussion of the medium (soil or soil-less), light & heat requirements and timing for planting in the garden. If you use a soil-less method, could you bring some in?
We will discuss flowers and vegetables so anything that grows will be open for discussion.
New members welcome! No fees, officers, and no referrals needed. Just an interest in growing. Hope to see you.
